Every star system has an economy type and a wealth level, visible on the galaxy map. Understanding these is key for profitable trading:
- Economy Types: Manufacturing, Mining, Technology, Trade, Scientific, Industrial, Power Generation, etc. Each specializes in producing certain goods and demanding others.
- Wealth Levels: Indicated by stars (1-3). Higher wealth systems offer better prices and a wider selection of goods.
Trading Strategy: Buy goods that are produced cheaply in one system (e.g., mining products in a Mining economy) and sell them in a system where they are in high demand (e.g., a Technology economy). Use your starship's inventory for bulk trading. The trade terminal on your freighter can also be used for large-scale transactions.
