Game Progression
Welcome, Observer! This section will guide you through the core narrative and essential objectives of the game, ensuring you don't miss a beat. We'll break down each major phase into actionable steps, highlighting crucial items, locations, and strategies to keep your investigation on track.
Prologue: Awakening and Initial Scans
Your journey begins with a disorienting awakening. Your primary goal here is to re-establish basic functionality and understand your immediate environment.
- Initial Boot-Up: Follow the on-screen prompts to complete your system diagnostics. This involves a series of simple button presses and visual confirmations. Pay attention to the flickering data streams; they often contain subtle clues.
- First Contact: After the boot-up, you'll receive an urgent audio transmission. This is your first direct interaction with the station's AI. Listen carefully to the instructions, as they will direct your initial movements.
- Locating the Core Module: Your first objective will be to locate and access the station's Core Module.
- Navigation: Use your primary movement controls to navigate through the initial corridors. The path is largely linear at this stage.
- Data Log Retrieval (Optional but Recommended): Keep an eye out for glowing data logs scattered throughout the environment. The first one is typically found near the initial boot-up chamber, on a console to your left. Interacting with these logs provides valuable backstory and hints.
- Accessing the Core: The Core Module entrance is marked by a distinctive red access panel. Interact with it to initiate the access sequence. You may need to solve a simple circuit puzzle to unlock it.
Part I: System Restoration and Anomaly Investigation
With the Core Module accessed, your next phase involves restoring critical station systems and investigating the source of the mysterious anomaly.
- Power Grid Rerouting: Inside the Core Module, your immediate task is to reroute power to essential systems.
- Console Interaction: Approach the central console. You'll be presented with a holographic interface.
- Puzzle Solution: This involves a logic puzzle where you must connect power conduits to various station sectors. Start by prioritizing "Life Support" and "Communications." A successful connection will be indicated by a green light.
- Investigating the Anomaly: Once basic power is restored, the AI will direct you to a specific sector to investigate the anomaly.
- Navigation to Sector Alpha: Head towards the marked waypoint on your HUD. This will lead you through a series of maintenance tunnels and crew quarters.
- Environmental Scans: Upon entering Sector Alpha, deploy your environmental scanner (default key/button: 'E' on PC, 'X' on Xbox One). Scan any unusual energy signatures or damaged equipment.
- Retrieving the "Anomaly Data Chip": The anomaly's source is a damaged console in the center of Sector Alpha. Interact with it to retrieve the "Anomaly Data Chip." This item is crucial for progressing the narrative.
Part II: Data Analysis and Communication Array
With the Anomaly Data Chip in hand, your focus shifts to analyzing its contents and attempting to re-establish external communications.
- Data Analysis in the Research Lab: Return to the Core Module and proceed to the adjacent Research Lab.
- Lab Access: The Research Lab requires a specific access code, which you should have received from the AI after retrieving the data chip. If not, check your mission log.
- Data Upload: Locate the large data analysis terminal in the center of the lab. Insert the "Anomaly Data Chip" into the designated slot.
- Decoding Sequence: This will initiate a decoding sequence. You may need to monitor progress and occasionally intervene by adjusting frequency settings on the terminal.
- Repairing the Communication Array: The decoded data will reveal the need to repair the station's communication array.
- Navigating to the Array: The Communication Array is located on the exterior of the station. Access the nearest airlock, typically found near the Research Lab.
- EVA Sequence: This is your first Extra-Vehicular Activity (EVA). Familiarize yourself with the zero-gravity controls.
- Array Repair: Locate the damaged sections of the array. You'll need to re-align several satellite dishes and replace a faulty "Comm-Link Module." The module is usually found in a nearby storage compartment, marked by a flashing light.
