Puzzle Solutions

Welcome, Observer! While much of your journey through the station is about exploration and discovery, there are a few key puzzles that can halt your progress if you're not sure where to look. This section provides detailed, actionable walkthroughs for those tricky moments, ensuring you can continue your mission without unnecessary delays.

The Initial Power Restoration

One of the first critical tasks you'll face is restoring auxiliary power to various systems. This often involves locating specific power cells and correctly routing the energy flow.

  • Locate the Power Cells:
    • Main Power Cell: This is typically found in the Engineering Bay, often near the central console. Look for a flashing red light or a distinct hum.
    • Auxiliary Power Cell A: Often stashed in a maintenance locker within the Crew Quarters. You might need to interact with a nearby terminal to unlock the locker.
    • Auxiliary Power Cell B: Keep an eye out in the Medical Bay or a storage room adjacent to it. It can be cleverly hidden behind some discarded equipment.
  • Power Conduit Puzzle:
    • Once you have the necessary power cells, head to the Power Distribution Hub, usually located centrally on your current deck.
    • Interact with the main console. You'll see a schematic of the station's power grid.
    • Your goal is to connect the power sources (the cells you just found) to the various systems (e.g., Life Support, Communications, Navigation).
    • Click and drag the power conduits to form a continuous path from the power cells to the designated system nodes. The system will usually highlight green when a correct connection is made.
    • Strategy: Start with the most critical systems first (often indicated by a flashing red icon). Work your way outwards, ensuring no conduits overlap incorrectly.

The Airlock Sequence

Navigating the station's airlocks requires a specific sequence of actions to prevent depressurization. This is a common point of confusion for new Observers.

  • Entering an Airlock:
    1. Approach the outer door of the airlock. It will typically be marked with an "Outer Hatch" sign.
    2. Interact with the door panel to request entry. The door will slide open.
    3. Step inside the airlock chamber.
    4. Once inside, the outer door will automatically seal behind you.
    5. Locate the Inner Hatch Control Panel within the airlock. This panel usually has buttons for "Pressurize," "Depressurize," and "Open Inner Door."
    6. Press the "Pressurize" button. Wait for the chamber to fully pressurize (a green indicator light will confirm this).
    7. Once pressurized, press the "Open Inner Door" button to proceed into the next section of the station.
  • Exiting an Airlock (to space or another depressurized zone):
    1. Approach the inner door of the airlock from the pressurized side.
    2. Interact with the door panel to open it and step inside.
    3. The inner door will seal behind you.
    4. Locate the Outer Hatch Control Panel (or the same panel as before, depending on the airlock design).
    5. Press the "Depressurize" button. Wait for the chamber to fully depressurize (a red indicator light or audible alarm will confirm this).
    6. Once depressurized, press the "Open Outer Door" button to exit.
  • Important Note: Never attempt to open an inner or outer door if the chamber is not at the correct pressure. Doing so will trigger an alarm and potentially cause system damage.

Data Core Access Puzzle

Accessing sensitive data cores often involves a multi-step authentication process, combining physical keycards with digital passcodes.

  • Locate the Data Core Keycard:
    • The Data Core Keycard is usually found in the Captain's Quarters or the Security Office. It might be on a desk, in a drawer, or even hidden behind a loose panel.
    • Hint: Look for personal logs or notes that might hint at its location.
  • Retrieve the Passcode Fragment:
    • A critical fragment of the passcode is often stored on a damaged Data Slate in the Communications Array or a nearby storage unit.
    • You'll need to take the Data Slate to a Diagnostic Terminal (usually in the Tech Lab) to recover the fragment.
    • The terminal will present a mini-game where you need to align corrupted data streams. Match the patterns until the fragment is revealed.
  • Accessing the Data Core:
    1. Proceed to the Main Data Core Chamber, typically located in a heavily secured area.
    2. Use the Data Core Keycard on the card reader next to the main entrance.
    3. Once inside, approach the central data console.
    4. Input the recovered passcode fragment. The system will then prompt you for the full passcode.
    5. The full passcode is often a combination of the fragment and a code found elsewhere, such as a log entry in the Bridge or a message on a personal terminal in the Crew Mess Hall. Combine these pieces of information to form the complete passcode.
    6. Enter the complete passcode to gain full access to the data core.
