Common Bugs & Fixes

While Outriders offers a robust gameplay experience, like any complex title, it can occasionally be affected by bugs and glitches. Awareness of these common issues and their potential workarounds can save players sificant frustration.

Inventory Duplication/Loss: One of the more persistent issues reported by players has been the loss or duplication of items from their inventory. This can manifest as specific legendary weapons or armor pieces disappearing or, conversely, appearing multiple times.

  • Fixes: The most common advice for inventory issues is to ensure the game is fully updated. Developers have released numerous patches to address these problems. If an item is lost, sometimes logging out and back in, or completing a mission, can resolve the issue. For duplication, exercise caution and avoid excessive trading or crafting until the issue is confirmed resolved by official patch notes.

Skill Not Activating: Occasionally, players may encounter a bug where a specific skill, such as the Pyromancer's Heatwave or the Technomancer's Scrapnel, fails to activate or has a delayed effect.

  • Fixes: This can often be resolved by performing a hard reset of the game or console. Sometimes, simply switching to a different skill and then back to the problematic one can reset its functionality. Ensuring that no environmental obstructions are preventing the skill's animation can also help.

Performance Issues: On PC, players may experience frame rate drops, stuttering, or crashes, particularly in graphically intensive areas or during large-scale combat.

  • Fixes: Always ensure your graphics drivers are up to date. Lowering graphical settings in the game's options menu, such as shadow quality or texture detail, can sificantly improve performance. Disabling features like V-Sync or motion blur might also help. For console players, ensuring the game is installed on a fast storage drive can reduce loading times and some stuttering.

Quest Progression Bugs: Certain quests might become stuck, preventing players from advancing. This could involve an objective not triggering or an NPC not appearing.

  • Fixes: Reloading the game or restarting the mission from the lobby are often effective solutions. If the bug persists, checking online forums or community wikis for specific quest workarounds is recommended. Sometimes, completing a different side mission can trigger the progression of a stuck main quest.

Connection Errors: While not strictly a bug, frequent connection errors can disrupt gameplay. These are often server-side but can sometimes be related to local network configurations.
