Across the Desert

Master the elements in Outriders' Across the Desert mission. Learn to leverage your Pyromancer skills and environmental hazards for success.

Navigating "Across the Desert" in Chapter 7 requires a strategic approach to combat and environmental awareness. The primary objective is to push through the arid expanse, overcoming the hostile forces that inhabit it. Players will encounter several enemies, including the resilient Scavengers, who are adept at using cover and flanking maneuvers, and the formidable Alpha Perforators, whose ranged attacks can quickly deplete health. It is crucial to prioritize targets, focusing on the most dangerous threats first. For instance, eliminating Alpha Perforators from a distance using sniper rifles or long-range abilities like the Trickster's Temporal Blade can prevent them from pinning down your squad. When facing Scavengers, using area-of-effect abilities such as the Pyromancer's Heatwave or the Technomancer's Scrapnel can disrupt their formations and inflict sificant damage.

The desert environment itself presents unique challenges. Sandstorms can drastically reduce visibility, making it difficult to spot enemies and aim accurately. During these storms, seek cover behind rock formations or ruins and rely on abilities that don't require precise aiming, such as the Devastator's Earthquake or the Trickster's Slow Trap. also be mindful of the terrain; uneven ground and scattered debris can impede movement, making players vulnerable to ambushes. Looting is essential in this chapter, as resources are scarce. Keep an eye out for ammo caches and health packs, often found in small encampments or within the wrecks of old vehicles. Specific locations to watch for include the abandoned supply depot, which often contains valuable crafting materials, and the ancient burial grounds, which may hold rare gear. Mastering the use of cover, flanking maneuvers, and the synergy between your chosen Class's abilities will be key to successfully traversing "Across the Desert."
