Level Specific Strategies
Welcome, chefs! This section is your go-to resource for mastering the most challenging kitchens in Overcooked! All You Can Eat. We'll break down each level with actionable steps, item locations, and strategic advice to help you earn those coveted three stars.
World 1-1: The Humble Beginnings
This tutorial level introduces basic mechanics. Focus on efficiency from the start to build good habits.
- Ingredients:
- Lettuce: Located on the left counter.
- Tomato: Located on the right counter.
- Buns: Located on the central counter.
- Equipment:
- Chopping Boards: Two available, one on the left, one on the right.
- Plates: Stacked on the bottom-right counter.
- Serving Hatch: Bottom-center.
- Strategy:
- Player 1 (Left): Grab Lettuce, chop it on the left board. Place chopped lettuce on a plate.
- Player 2 (Right): Grab Tomato, chop it on the right board. Place chopped tomato on a plate.
- Both Players: Grab Buns from the center. Combine ingredients on plates.
- Serving: Deliver completed dishes to the serving hatch. Prioritize orders with fewer ingredients first to clear space.
- Pro Tip: Don't let plates pile up! Wash dirty plates immediately after serving.
World 2-3: The Shifting Sands
This desert-themed level introduces moving platforms, requiring precise timing and coordination.
- Cuisine: Sushi
- Ingredients & Equipment:
- Left Platform: Rice, Nori, Chopping Board.
- Right Platform: Fish (various types), Chopping Board.
- Central Area (Stationary): Plates, Serving Hatch.
- Strategy:
Single Player Focus:
- Initial Prep: Start by grabbing Rice and Nori from the left platform. Chop Nori.
- Platform Timing: Wait for the right platform to align. Quickly grab Fish, chop it.
- Assembly: Return to the central area with chopped ingredients. Combine Rice, Nori, and Fish on a plate.
- Serving & Washing: Deliver sushi to the serving hatch. Use platform downtime to wash dirty plates.
Co-op (2 Players) Focus:
- Player 1 (Ingredient Runner): Stays primarily on the moving platforms. Focuses on chopping Rice, Nori, and Fish. Drops chopped ingredients onto the central stationary area when platforms align.
- Player 2 (Assembler/Server): Stays in the central stationary area. Collects chopped ingredients, assembles sushi on plates, and serves dishes. Also responsible for washing dirty plates.
- Communication is Key: Call out when platforms are aligning and when ingredients are ready to be passed.
- Hazard: The moving platforms can carry ingredients or chefs off the screen if you're not careful. Always be aware of their movement.
World 3-5: The Fiery Forge
This level features conveyor belts and a lava hazard, demanding quick reactions and strategic placement.
- Cuisine: Burgers and Fries
- Ingredients & Equipment:
- Top Left: Buns, Lettuce, Tomato, Chopping Board.
- Top Right: Potatoes, Frying Pan, Chopping Board.
- Bottom Left: Meat, Frying Pan.
- Bottom Right: Plates, Serving Hatch.
- Conveyor Belts: Run horizontally across the middle, moving ingredients from left to right.
- Lava Pits: Located in the center, between the conveyor belts.
- Strategy:
Efficient Ingredient Flow:
- Fries Production (Top Right): One chef should focus on Potatoes. Chop them, then place them in the Frying Pan. Once cooked, place fries on the conveyor belt to send them towards the serving area.
- Burger Patties (Bottom Left): Another chef should handle Meat. Place it in the Frying Pan. Once cooked, place patties on the conveyor belt.
- Burger Assembly (Top Left & Bottom Right): The remaining chef(s) should chop Lettuce and Tomato (Top Left), and then move to the Bottom Right to collect cooked fries and patties from the conveyor. Assemble burgers with Buns, Lettuce, Tomato, and patties, then add fries to the plate.
- Serving: Deliver completed orders to the Serving Hatch.
- Conveyor Belt Management:
- Use the conveyor belts to your advantage for transporting cooked items.
- Be careful not to accidentally place raw ingredients on the belt if they're not ready, as they'll travel away from their prep stations.
- The lava pits are instant K.O. zones. Avoid at all costs!
- Team Coordination: Assign clear roles. One chef for fries, one for patties, and one or two for chopping vegetables and assembly/serving.
Kevin's Kitchen 4: The Haunted Mansion
This spooky kitchen introduces ghost mechanics and disappearing platforms, testing your memory and agility.
- Cuisine: Pizza
- Ingredients & Equipment:
- Base Area: Dough, Chopping Board, Oven.
- Disappearing Platforms: Connect the base area to various ingredient stations.
- Ingredient Stations: Cheese, Tomato Sauce, various Toppings (e.g., Mushroom, Pepperoni).
- Serving Hatch: Located in the base area.
- Strategy:
Ghostly Coordination:
- Dough & Sauce: Start by grabbing Dough and placing it on a plate. Then, grab Tomato Sauce and add it to the dough.
- Platform Navigation: Observe the disappearing platforms. They often follow a predictable pattern. Memorize the timing or communicate their state.
- Topping Runs: Send chefs across the disappearing platforms to collect Cheese and other required Toppings. Chop any toppings as needed.
- Assembly & Cooking: Bring all ingredients back to the base area. Assemble the pizza on the plate, then place it in the Oven.
- Serving: Once cooked, deliver the pizza to the Serving Hatch.
- Ghost Hazard: Ghosts will occasionally appear and try to steal ingredients or dirty plates. If a ghost grabs an item, you must intercept it to retrieve the item. A well-timed dash can often scare them off.
- Memory Challenge: With platforms disappearing, remembering where ingredients are located and the path to them is crucial. Consider having one chef dedicated to ingredient fetching.
