Getting Started: The Sticker Fest Fiasco

Your adventure begins in the peaceful Sticker Fest grounds. After the initial cutscene where Bowser crashes the party and scatters the Royal Stickers, you'll find yourself in control of Mario. Your first objective is to understand the basic mechanics of movement and interaction.

• Movement: Use the Circle Pad to move Mario around the environment.
• Jumping: Press the 'B' button to jump. This is crucial for reaching higher platforms, avoiding enemies, and uncovering hidden blocks.
• Interacting: Press the 'A' button to interact with objects, talk to Toads, and examine your surroundings.

Your First Steps: Peeking and Collecting

After the chaos, you'll meet Kersti, the Sticker Comet's crown, who will guide you through the initial tutorial. Pay close attention to her advice!

1. Peeking: Kersti will introduce you to the "Peel" mechanic. Stand in front of the crumpled Sticker Comet and press 'Y' to peel it. This is how you'll collect many stickers throughout the game.
2. Collecting Your First Stickers:
   • After peeling the comet, you'll receive your first few stickers: a Jump Sticker and a Hammer Sticker. These are your basic attack stickers.
   • Look around the immediate area for more peelable spots on walls and objects. You should find additional Jump Stickers and Hammer Stickers.
   • check behind the stage area where the Sticker Comet was originally located. There's often a hidden block or two in these early zones.
3. Understanding Your Album: Kersti will explain your Sticker Album, which is where all your collected stickers are stored. You can access it by pressing 'X'. Remember, stickers are your ammunition in battle, so keep a good stock!

First Battle & Basic Combat

As you proceed through the Sticker Fest grounds, you'll encounter your first enemies: a few scattered Goombas. This is your chance to learn the combat system.

• Initiating Battle: Jump on an enemy or hit them with your hammer on the overworld to gain a first strike advantage, which allows you to attack first in battle. If an enemy touches you, they get the first strike.
• Using Stickers: In battle, open your Sticker Album and select a sticker to use.
  • Jump Sticker: Effective against ground-based enemies. Press 'A' just as Mario lands on the enemy for an "Excellent" attack, dealing more damage.
  • Hammer Sticker: Good for enemies with spikes or those that are airborne. Press 'A' just as the hammer is about to hit for an "Excellent" attack.
• Blocking: During an enemy's turn, press 'A' just before their attack connects to block, reducing incoming damage. Practice your timing!
• Collecting Coins: Defeated enemies drop coins. Collect these as they are vital for purchasing new stickers and Thing Stickers later in the game.
