World Map & Stages
Welcome, intrepid adventurer, to the comprehensive guide for navigating the vibrant, yet sometimes perplexing, world of Paper Mario: Sticker Star! This section will detail each stage, highlighting key objectives, hidden secrets, and essential items to ensure your journey through the Mushroom Kingdom is as smooth as freshly peeled paper.
The World Map is your central hub for progression. It's divided into several distinct worlds, each with its own unique theme, challenges, and Bowser's Minions to overcome. To advance, you'll generally need to collect a Royal Sticker from the final stage of each world. Remember, revisiting stages is often necessary to uncover all secrets or to acquire specific stickers and Thing Stickers you might have missed.
World 1: Warm Fuzzy Plains
Your adventure begins in the familiar and relatively gentle Warm Fuzzy Plains. This world serves as an excellent introduction to the game's mechanics, but don't let its calm appearance fool you – there are still plenty of challenges and hidden goodies to discover.
1-1: Warm Fuzzy Plains
- Objective: Reach the end of the stage and collect the Comet Sticker.
- Walkthrough:
- Upon entering, head right. You'll encounter your first Goombas. Practice your jump and hammer attacks!
- Just past the first few Goombas, you'll see a small hill. Jump on it and then jump again to reveal a hidden block containing a Jump Sticker.
- Continue right. You'll soon come across a large block that can be hammered. Hammer it to reveal a path forward.
- Further along, you'll spot a tree. Hammer the tree to make a Coin drop.
- Before the exit pipe, there's a small alcove above. Jump to reach it and find a hidden Hammer Sticker.
- Exit the stage via the pipe to claim your first Comet Sticker.
- Notable Items:
- Jump Sticker: Hidden block near the beginning.
- Hammer Sticker: Hidden alcove before the exit pipe.
- Coin: Dropped from hammering a tree.
1-2: Bouquet Gardens
- Objective: Navigate the floral maze and find the exit.
- Walkthrough:
- The main challenge here is the maze-like structure. Always try to explore dead ends, as they often hide coins or stickers.
- Early in the stage, you'll find a small patch of flowers. Hammer them to reveal a hidden Super Jump Sticker.
- Keep an eye out for Wiggler segments. You'll need to chase them down later in the game, but for now, just note their locations.
- There's a hidden block containing a Leaf Sticker near a large, unhammerable flower.
- To progress, you'll need to use the "Paperize" ability (press Y) in a specific area to reveal a path. Look for a section of the background that looks slightly out of place.
- The exit is located after a series of jumps over Piranha Plants.
- Notable Items:
- Super Jump Sticker: Hidden in a flower patch.
- Leaf Sticker: Hidden block near a large flower.
1-3: Sandshifter Ruins
- Objective: Traverse the sandy ruins and defeat the Goomba Tower.
- Walkthrough:
- The primary obstacle here is the quicksand. Avoid falling in, as it will cost you HP and return you to the last solid ground.
- You'll encounter several large blocks. One of these, located near the center of the stage, can be hammered to reveal a Spike Helmet Sticker. This is excellent for early defense!
- There's a hidden block containing a Fire Flower Sticker above a quicksand pit. You'll need precise jumps to reach it.
- The end of the stage features a battle against a Goomba Tower. Focus your attacks on the top Goomba to quickly dismantle the tower. Jump stickers are particularly effective here.
- After defeating the Goomba Tower, the path to the next stage will open.
- Notable Items:
- Spike Helmet Sticker: Hammerable block in the ruins.
- Fire Flower Sticker: Hidden block above a quicksand pit.
Remember to always check your surroundings, hammer suspicious objects, and use Paperize liberally. Many secrets and valuable stickers are cleverly hidden throughout the stages!
