3-1: Leaflitter Path

Welcome to the enchanting, yet sometimes tricky, Leaflitter Path! This initial foray into the Evergreen Forest will test your environmental awareness and sticker management. Prepare for a journey through vibrant foliage, hidden secrets, and a few familiar foes. Your primary objective is to navigate the winding paths and uncover the secrets of the forest to reach the Comet Sticker.

Walkthrough: Navigating the Verdant Trails

Upon entering 3-1 Leaflitter Path, you'll find yourself on a relatively open, leaf-strewn path. Your adventure begins immediately:

  1. Initial Path & Leaf Piles: Head right. You'll quickly encounter several large piles of fallen leaves. These aren't just for show! Use your Hammer (tap the Hammer icon on the touch screen) to clear them.
    • Hidden Coins: Most leaf piles will yield a few coins.
    • Sticker Cache: The first large leaf pile on the main path conceals a Jump Sticker.
    • Hidden Block: Just past the first leaf pile, keep an eye on the background. There's an invisible Hidden Block containing a Shiny Jump Sticker directly above a small, lone bush. Jump to reveal it!
  2. First Enemy Encounter: As you proceed, you'll encounter your first enemies: Shy Guys. These common foes will attempt to block your path.
    • Shy Guy Strategy: Shy Guys have low HP and are vulnerable to most attacks. A single Jump or Hammer sticker is usually enough to defeat them. They do NOT steal your stickers in Paper Mario: Sticker Star, so don't worry about that particular mechanic here. Focus on defeating them efficiently to conserve your stronger stickers.
  3. Piranha Plant Patch: Further along, the path narrows, and you'll spot several Piranha Plants emerging from pipes.
    • Piranha Plant Strategy: Piranha Plants are best dealt with using Jump stickers, as this avoids taking contact damage. A well-timed "Excellent!" jump can often defeat them in one hit. If you're low on Jump stickers, a Hammer attack works but leaves you open to their bite.
  4. The Log Bridge & Toad Rescue: You'll come to a gap in the path, bridged by a large, fallen log. Cross it. On the other side, you'll see a Toad stuck to a tree!
    • Toad Rescue: Approach the Toad and peel him off the tree using your "Paperize" ability (press 'Y'). This is Toad #1 for this level. He'll thank you and provide some helpful hints about the area.
  5. Waterfall Secret & Hidden Path: Just past the rescued Toad, you'll notice a small waterfall cascading down.
    • Hidden Path: Walk directly into the waterfall. It's not solid! Behind it lies a hidden alcove containing a Shiny Hammer Sticker.
  6. The "Stuck" Path & Leaf Blower: Continue right. You'll reach a section where the path is completely covered by an enormous, immovable pile of leaves. You can't clear this with your Hammer alone.
    • The Solution: This is where the Leaf Blower Thing Sticker comes into play. You need to use this specific Thing Sticker to clear the massive leaf pile. If you don't have it, you'll need to backtrack or come back later.
      • Where to Find the Leaf Blower: The Leaf Blower can be found in World 1-3: Wiggler's Tree House. If you haven't acquired it yet, make a note to return here once you have it.
    • Using the Leaf Blower: Once you have the Leaf Blower sticker, enter battle mode (by touching the leaf pile) and use the Leaf Blower. It will clear the entire path, revealing the way forward.
  7. Post-Leaf Blower Area: After clearing the path, you'll find a new section with more enemies and collectibles.
    • New Enemies: Expect more Shy Guys and Piranha Plants.
    • Sticker Spot: Look for a small, elevated platform on the right. Jump onto it to find a Line Jump Sticker.
    • Hidden Block: Near the end of this section, before the final platform, there's another Hidden Block containing a POW Block Sticker. It's usually located above a small, distinctively shaped patch of grass.
  8. Reaching the Comet Sticker: The path will lead you to a final, slightly elevated platform. Jump up, and you'll find the Comet Sticker for 3-1 Leaflitter Path. Touch it to complete the level!

Hidden Blocks & Collectibles

Leaflitter Path is home to several hidden goodies. Keep your eyes peeled and your jump button ready!

  • Hidden Block 1: Above the lone bush just past the first leaf pile. Contains: Shiny Jump Sticker.
  • Hidden Block 2: In the final section after using the Leaf Blower, near the end of the path before the Comet Sticker. Contains: POW Block Sticker.
  • Waterfall Alcove: Behind the small waterfall after rescuing the first Toad. Contains: Shiny Hammer Sticker.
  • Toad Rescue: One Toad is stuck to a tree after crossing the log bridge. Peel him off for a hint!

Enemy Encounters & Strategies
