World 3-3: Stump Glade

Welcome to Stump Glade, a dense forest area where you'll encounter new enemies and a few tricky puzzles. Your main goal here is to navigate through the maze-like paths and find a crucial item to progress further in World 3.

Walkthrough

  1. Initial Area & First Path:

    Upon entering, head right. You'll immediately spot a large tree stump. Ignore it for now and continue along the main path. Be wary of the new enemies, the Piranha Plants, which can deal significant damage. Utilize Jump stickers for their weakness.

  2. Hidden Block & Sticker Acquisition:

    As you proceed, keep an eye out for a hidden block. It's usually located near a cluster of trees on the upper path. Jump to reveal it and collect the Shiny Jump sticker within. This will be invaluable for upcoming battles.

  3. The First Stump Puzzle:

    You'll soon reach an area with multiple tree stumps. The path forward is blocked by a large, immovable log. To clear it, you need to find a specific item. Head to the far right of this area. You'll see a smaller tree stump with a Question Mark Block above it. Hit the block to reveal a Hammer sticker.

    • Strategy: Use the Hammer sticker on the large log blocking your path. This will break it into smaller pieces, allowing you to pass.
  4. Navigating the Glade:

    Continue moving right. The path will wind around several more stumps. You'll encounter more Piranha Plants and possibly some Spiny enemies. Remember that Spiny enemies are best dealt with by Hammer stickers, as jumping on them will damage Mario.

    • Optional: Look for a small, elevated platform to the north of the main path. Jump up to find a hidden Coin Block containing several coins.
  5. The Second Stump Puzzle & Secret Path:

    You'll arrive at another section with several stumps. One of these stumps has a small, discolored patch on its side. Use your Paperize ability here to reveal a cutout for a Fan Thing sticker. You won't have the Fan yet, but remember this spot!

    To progress, head to the far right and then upwards. You'll find a path that appears to be a dead end. However, if you look closely, there's a subtle opening in the foliage. Walk through it to discover a hidden area.

  6. The Wiggler Segment:

    In this hidden area, you'll find a small, distressed Wiggler segment. It's stuck and needs your help. To free it, you'll need to use a strong attack. A Shiny Hammer sticker or a well-timed Jump sticker with an Excellent bonus should do the trick. Once freed, the Wiggler segment will thank you and move on, hinting at its eventual reunion.

    • Reward: After freeing the Wiggler segment, a Sticker Comet will appear nearby. Collect it to gain a powerful new sticker for your album.
  7. Exiting Stump Glade:

    With the Wiggler segment rescued and the Sticker Comet collected, retrace your steps back to the main path. Continue to the right, and you'll soon reach the exit for World 3-3, leading you to the next stage.
