The Colored Pencils are the first of the Legion of Stationery bosses. They attack by launching a barrage of pencils at Mario. Phases: The boss has two main phases. In the first, it's protected by its case. In the second, the pencils are exposed. Weaknesses: The pencils themselves are vulnerable once the case is open. The 1,000-Fold Arms are essential. Strategy: Your primary goal is to open the pencil case. Align the rings to reach the 'Magic Circle' panel and activate the Earth Vellumental power. This will cause a large rock to fall, opening the case. Once the pencils are exposed, use Jump attacks to hit as many as possible. The 'Item' panel can be useful for using a POW Block if you can align it. Be careful of its 'Colored Pencil Missile' attack, which can deal heavy damage. Keep your HP up. Rewards: Red Streamer severed, access to new areas.
