Jewelry Store

The Jewelry Store heist is often one of the first missions new players encounter, offering a quick and relatively straightforward opportunity for cash and experience. It can be approached stealthily or with a full-on assault, though stealth often yields better rewards and avoids a prolonged police response.

Stealth Approach

For a successful stealth run, careful planning and execution are key. This mission is an excellent proving ground for your Ghost skills.

  1. Initial Reconnaissance: Upon spawning, immediately assess the street. Look for the security camera box, typically located in the alleyway to the left or right of the store, or sometimes directly behind the building. Also, identify the civilian patrol patterns and the locations of the two guards inside the store.
  2. Disable Cameras: Prioritize disabling the security cameras. Locate the camera box and interact with it. This will prevent guards from being alerted by broken cameras or your presence.
  3. Neutralize Guards: There are two guards inside the Jewelry Store. One usually patrols the main showroom, and the other might be in the back office or also patrolling. Use silenced weapons (e.g., a silenced pistol like the Chimano 88 or Crosskill) to take them down quietly. Remember to answer their pagers promptly.
  4. Control Civilians: Once the guards are down, focus on controlling the civilians. Use the "Shout" command (default 'F' key) to force them to the ground. Zip-tie any civilians who might wander or attempt to call the police. The more civilians you control, the less likely an alarm will be raised.
  5. Secure the Loot:
    • Glass Cases: Use your melee weapon (e.g., Electrical Brass Knuckles or Taser) to break the glass display cases. This is quieter than shooting and won't alert nearby civilians as easily.
    • Back Room Safe (Optional): Check the back room for a small safe. This often contains additional cash or small valuables. You'll need a Drill to open it, which can be noisy and attract attention if not done carefully.
    • Jewelry Bags: Collect all the jewelry bags. There are usually between 6 and 8 bags of jewelry scattered throughout the store.
  6. Escape: Once all the loot is secured, head to the escape van. The van typically parks directly in front of the store or slightly down the street. Throw the bags into the van to complete the heist.

Loud Approach

If stealth isn't your style or goes awry, be prepared for a firefight. The Jewelry Store can be a chaotic but quick loud heist.

  1. Initiate Assault: Simply shoot out the front windows or open fire on the first guard you see. The alarm will sound immediately.
  2. Control the Front: Your primary objective is to secure the entrance and prevent police from easily entering. Place Sentry Guns near the entrance or use Trip Mines to cover flanking routes if you have them.
  3. Loot Quickly: While your team holds off the police, one or two focus on quickly smashing display cases and bagging the jewelry. Don't worry about being quiet; just be fast.
  4. Back Room Safe: If you have a Drill, start it on the back room safe immediately. Defend the drill from police interference.
  5. Escape: The escape van will arrive after a short delay. Gather all the loot bags and make a dash for the van, throwing the bags in as you go. Be wary of snipers on rooftops and heavy units like Dozers or Tasered units during your escape.

Key Items and Strategies

  • ECM Jammers: In stealth, ECM Jammers are invaluable. They can delay the alarm, open certain doors, and prevent civilians from calling the police. A well-placed ECM can buy you crucial time.
  • Body Bags: If you're going for stealth, having Body Bag Cases can help you hide guard bodies and prevent civilian panic.
  • Silenced Weapons: Essential for stealth. Equip your primary and secondary weapons with suppressors.
  • High Concealment: For stealth builds, aim for high concealment to remain undetected for longer.
  • Ammo Bags/Med Kits: For loud runs, ensure your team brings a good mix of Ammo Bags and First Aid Kits or Doctor Bags to sustain the fight.

The Jewelry Store is a fantastic mission for both new and experienced players. Master its mechanics, and you'll be well on your way to becoming a true Payday professional.
