Your primary objective is to retrieve Hoxton's laptop, a critical piece of evidence needed to clear his name. This mission is a high-stakes, multi-floor assault demanding precision, coordinated teamwork, and an understanding of the HQ's intricate layout. Expect relentless waves of law enforcement, including heavily armored units and the notorious SWAT Turrets. Success hinges on your ability to navigate the building, secure key areas, and protect Hoxton as he works.

Recommended Loadout & Skills

Given the sustained, high-intensity combat, a balanced crew is essential. Consider the following:

• Enforcer (Shotgun/LMG Focus): Crucial for crowd control and taking down heavily armored units. Skills like Fully Loaded Ace and Iron Man Ace are invaluable.
• Technician (Turret/Explosives Focus): Sentry Guns can provide critical suppressive fire and cover choke points. Engineer Ace and Jack of All Trades Ace (for additional Sentry Guns or Ammo Bags) are highly recommended. Shaped Charges are also useful for optional shortcuts.
• Mastermind (Medic/Inspire Focus): Keeping the crew alive and boosting morale is paramount. Inspire Ace is non-negotiable. Doctor Bags are your primary deployable.
• Fugitive (Dodge/Crit Focus) or Ghost (Stealth/ECM Focus): While stealth is not an option here, Fugitive's dodge capabilities can help survivability, and Ghost's ECMs can be used to delay assaults or open doors if needed (though less critical than other roles).

Essential Deployables:

• Doctor Bags: At least two, preferably three or four.
• Ammo Bags: Crucial for sustained firefights.
• Sentry Guns: Excellent for covering flanks, hallways, or the server room during Hoxton's hack.

Phase 1: Infiltration and Initial Ascent

1. Entry Point: You'll start on the ground floor, typically entering through the main lobby or a side entrance. Immediately establish a perimeter. Law enforcement will be pouring in from all directions.
2. Security Room (Optional but Recommended): Locate the security room, usually on the ground floor or first floor. It will be guarded. Neutralizing the guards and disabling the cameras here will make the initial ascent slightly easier, though new cameras will appear on higher floors.
3. Elevator Shafts: Your primary route upwards will be via the elevator shafts. Look for open elevator doors or use a shaped charge on a closed one. Be prepared for enemies rappelling down the shafts or waiting on floors above.
4. Keycard Acquisition: To progress through certain locked doors, you'll need FBI Keycards. These are dropped by specific FBI agents, often identified by their white shirts or by being the first few special enemies you encounter. Keep an eye out for them, especially on the lower floors.

Phase 2: Navigating the Floors & Server Room Access

The FBI HQ is a multi-level labyrinth. Communication is key to navigating efficiently.

1. Floor-by-Floor Progression: You'll need to fight your way up several floors. Each floor presents new challenges:
   • Office Cubicles: Provide some cover but can be easily flanked.
   • Server Rooms/Data Centers: Often heavily guarded. These are distinct from the main server room you're heading to.
   • Executive Offices: Wider sightlines, less cover.
2. Identifying the Server Room: Hoxton will guide you. The server room is usually identifiable by its distinct layout, often with rows of server racks and a central console. It's typically located on one of the middle floors.
3. Breaching the Server Room:
   • Option A (Keycard): The most common method. Use an FBI Keycard on the server room door.
   • Option B (Drill): If no keycard is found or you prefer, a drill can be used. This will take longer and attract more attention.
   • Option C (Shaped Charge): A quick but loud entry.

Phase 3: Hoxton's Hack & Defense

Once inside the server room, Hoxton will begin his hack. This is the most intense defensive phase of the mission.

1. Secure the Server Room:
   • Choke Points: Identify the main entry points to the server room (usually 1-2 doors, possibly a vent).
   • Sentry Gun Placement: Deploy Sentry Guns to cover these choke points. This frees up your crew to focus on more immediate threats.
   • Cover: Utilize the server racks for cover. Be aware that enemies can flank from multiple angles.
2. Protect Hoxton: Hoxton is vulnerable while hacking. Keep enemies away from him. If he goes down, revive him immediately to prevent the hack from resetting.
3. SWAT Turret Encounters: Expect multiple SWAT Turrets to be deployed during this phase.
   • Location: Turrets often appear in hallways leading to the server room, or in larger open areas just outside. Listen for their distinctive whirring sound.
   • Strategy:
     • Focus Fire: Concentrate all available firepower on the turret's shield generator (the glowing blue/red box on its back).
     • Explosives: Grenades, GL40, and RPGs are highly effective.
     • Flanking: If possible, have one player flank the turret to expose its weak point while others draw its fire.
     • Cover: Use heavy cover. The turret's sustained fire can quickly down even armored players.
     • EMP Grenades (Optional): If you have them, an EMP grenade can temporarily disable a turret, allowing for easier destruction.
4. Dealing with Special Enemies:
   • Shields: Use explosives, flank them, or use armor-piercing rounds.
   • Tasered: Prioritize taking out Tasers immediately.
   • Dozers: Focus fire on their head. Use shotguns or high-damage weapons.
   • Cloakers: Listen for their audio cues. Stay together to prevent being singled out.
5. Hack Progress: Monitor Hoxton's progress. The hack will take several minutes, and the intensity of enemy assaults will escalate over time.

Phase 4: The Escape - Rooftop Extraction

Once Hoxton completes the hack, the laptop is secured, and the escape route opens up. This is a frantic dash to the roof.

1. Follow Hoxton: Hoxton will lead the way to the rooftop. Stick close to him.
2. Clear the Path: You'll encounter heavy resistance in the stairwells and hallways leading to the roof. Don't linger; push forward aggressively.
3. Rooftop Defense: Upon reaching the roof, you'll need to secure the area for a short period while the escape helicopter arrives.
   • Perimeter: Establish a defensive perimeter around the helipad.
   • Snipers: Watch out for snipers on adjacent buildings.
   • Rappelling Enemies: Expect enemies to rappel down from the helicopter or climb up from below.
   • Final Turret: It's common for another SWAT Turret to be deployed on the rooftop. Deal with it swiftly using the strategies outlined above.
4. Board the Helicopter: Once the helicopter lands and the ramp is down, board it immediately to complete the heist. Don't wait for downed teammates if the situation is too hot; sometimes a sacrifice is necessary for mission success.

Common Pitfalls & Tips

• Splitting Up: While tempting to cover more ground, splitting the team too much can lead to isolated players being overwhelmed. Stick together, especially during the server room defense.
• Ignoring Special Enemies: Prioritize Tasers, Cloakers, and Dozers. They can quickly incapacitate or down your crew.
• Resource Management: Don't burn through all your Doctor Bags and Ammo Bags too early. Save them for critical moments, especially during the server room defense and rooftop escape.
• Communication: Call out enemy positions, special enemies, and when you need help or resources.
• Cover Usage: Always be aware of your surroundings and utilize cover effectively. Standing in the open is a death sentence.
• FBI Keycards: pick these up from fallen FBI agents. They are crucial for opening certain doors quickly.
