Walkthrough (Male Protagonist)
Welcome to the comprehensive walkthrough for the Male Protagonist route in Persona 3 Portable. This guide aims to maximize your efficiency in Tartarus, social links, and academic pursuits. Remember, time management is crucial!
April: The Beginning
April 6th: First Day
- Evening: After the initial cutscenes and introduction to the dorm, you'll be prompted to explore. Head to your room. The game will automatically advance to the next day.
April 7th: Gekkoukan High
- Morning: Attend class. Pay attention to the dialogue, as this is where you'll meet your first classmates.
- After School: You'll be introduced to the school environment.
- Classroom 2-F: Speak with Junpei Iori.
- Corridor: You can find Kenji Tomochika (Magician Social Link) here. Initiate his Social Link by talking to him.
- Faculty Office: Speak with Ms. Toriumi (Hierophant Social Link).
- Evening: Return to the dorm. You'll have your first encounter with the Dark Hour and Tartarus.
April 8th - April 19th: Early Exploration & Social Links
During this period, focus on establishing your initial Social Links and making your first forays into Tartarus. Your primary goal for Tartarus is to reach the first barrier on Floor 16 before the Full Moon operation on April 20th.
Daytime Activities:
- Academics: Always answer correctly in class when prompted to boost your Charm or Intelligence.
- Social Links:
- Kenji Tomochika (Magician): Prioritize hanging out with him after school. He's usually in Classroom 2-F or the 2F Corridor.
- Hidetoshi Odagiri (Emperor): Joins the Student Council. You can join the Student Council by talking to the student council member outside the Faculty Office. This will unlock Hidetoshi.
- Part-time Jobs: Consider taking on a part-time job at the Chagall Cafe in Paulownia Mall to earn some Yen and boost your Social Stats (Charm, Courage, Intelligence).
Evening Activities:
- Tartarus Exploration:
- Strategy: Aim for short, efficient runs to conserve SP. Focus on reaching the next accessible floor.
- Recommended Level: Aim for at least Level 5-7 before the first Full Moon.
- Party Composition: For early Tartarus, your party will consist of the Protagonist, Junpei, and Yukari. Utilize their strengths: Protagonist (versatile), Junpei (physical damage), Yukari (healing/wind magic).
- Items to Collect: Prioritize collecting Twilight Fragments from destructible objects. These are invaluable for opening locked chests.
- Enemy Weaknesses (First Block):
- Cowardly Maya: Weak to Pierce.
- Spurious Book: Weak to Fire.
- Tranquil Idol: Weak to Electricity.
- Fusions: In the Velvet Room, fuse Personas that cover various elemental weaknesses. Orpheus (your starting Persona) is weak to Electricity, so consider fusing a Persona resistant to it.
- Dorm Activities:
- Study: Boosts Intelligence.
- Sleep: Restores HP/SP for the next day.
- Interact with Dorm Mates: Occasionally, you can gain minor stat boosts or unique dialogue.
April 20th: Full Moon Operation
- Boss Battle: Priestess (Arcana Hermit)
- Location: Monorail
- Strategy: The Priestess has two forms. Her first form is weak to Pierce attacks. Her second form is resistant to physical attacks but weak to magical attacks. Ensure you have Personas with various elemental spells. Use Junpei for physical attacks on the first form, and Yukari for healing and wind magic throughout. Keep your party's HP up, especially when she charges her powerful attacks.
- Reward: After defeating the Priestess, you'll receive a significant amount of experience and progress the story.
