January: The Final Battle
Welcome, S.E.E.S. members. January marks the culmination of your journey, leading to the ultimate confrontation with Nyx. This month is critical for final preparations, grinding, and ensuring your team is in peak condition. There are no more Social Links to pursue, so focus entirely on strengthening your Personas and acquiring the best gear.
General January Strategy
- Maximize Tartarus Visits: You have until January 31st to reach the very top of Tartarus (Floor 264). Spend as many nights as possible climbing, grinding for experience, and collecting valuable items.
- The Monad Depths: These special floors within Tartarus (accessible from certain block entrances) offer significantly higher experience and rare items. Prioritize clearing them whenever they appear.
- Persona Fusion: Now is the time to create your ultimate Personas. Focus on Personas with strong elemental coverage, healing, support skills, and resistances. Consider fusing Personas with the 'Victory Cry' skill for efficient grinding.
- Equipment Upgrade: Visit the Antique Shop in Paulownia Mall to trade gems for powerful weapons, armor, and accessories. Ensure your entire party is equipped with their best possible gear.
- Consumables Stockpile: Stock up on healing items (e.g., Bead Chain, SOMA), SP recovery items (e.g., Chewing Soul, Snuff Soul), and revival items (e.g., Balm of Life, Revival Bead). The final boss fight is a marathon.
Tartarus Ascent: Adamah Block (Floors 227-264)
The final block of Tartarus, Adamah, presents the toughest challenges yet. The shadows here are formidable, often resisting or nullifying multiple damage types. Be prepared for extended battles.
Key Shadows to Watch For:
- Jotun of Power: Weak to Pierce, resists Strike. Can hit hard with physical attacks.
- Nemean Beast: Strong against Physical, weak to Ice. Uses powerful Fire spells.
- World Balance: Nulls Fire, Ice, Elec, Wind. Weak to Light and Dark. A good opportunity for instant-kill spells if your Hama/Mudo skills are high.
- Emperor's Will: No weaknesses, resists all elemental damage. Focus on Almighty attacks or powerful physical skills.
Recommended Party Setup for Adamah:
While personal preference plays a role, a balanced party is crucial. Consider:
- Yukari: Essential for healing (Mediarahan, Samarecarm) and Wind damage.
- Mitsuru: Excellent Ice damage (Bufudyne, Mabufudyne) and support (Mind Charge).
- Aigis: Strong physical attacker, buffs (Tarukaja, Marakukaja), and can take hits.
- Akihiko: Good Electric damage (Zionga, Mazio) and debuffs (Tarunda, Sukunda).
- Koromaru: Fire damage (Agidyne) and Dark instant-kills (Mudo, Mamudo).
Experiment with different combinations to find what works best for your playstyle and Persona collection.
The Final Confrontation (January 31st)
On January 31st, after reaching the top of Tartarus, you will face Nyx. This is a multi-phase battle, testing everything you've learned and prepared for.
Nyx Avatar Battle Strategy:
Nyx Avatar cycles through all 12 Arcana, changing weaknesses and resistances with each phase. Pay close attention to its current Arcana to exploit weaknesses and avoid resistances.
- Phase 1 (Fool): No weaknesses. Focus on strong physical attacks and buffs/debuffs.
- Phase 2 (Magician): Weak to Ice. Uses Fire spells.
- Phase 3 (Priestess): Weak to Fire. Uses Ice spells.
- Phase 4 (Empress): Weak to Wind. Uses Electric spells.
- Phase 5 (Emperor): Weak to Electric. Uses Wind spells.
- Phase 6 (Hierophant): Weak to Pierce. Uses Light spells.
- Phase 7 (Lovers): Weak to Slash. Uses Dark spells.
- Phase 8 (Chariot): Weak to Strike. Uses Physical attacks.
- Phase 9 (Justice): Weak to Dark. Uses Light spells.
- Phase 10 (Hermit): Weak to Light. Uses Dark spells.
- Phase 11 (Fortune): No weaknesses. Uses Almighty attacks. This phase is a damage race.
- Phase 12 (Strength): No weaknesses. Uses Almighty attacks.
Key Tactics for Nyx Avatar:
- Theurgy Attacks: Save your Theurgy gauges for the later, tougher phases, especially Fortune and Strength.
- Debuffs & Buffs: Maintain Tarunda/Rakunda on Nyx and Marakukaja/Matarukaja/Masukukaja on your party. These are vital for survival and damage output.
- Healing & SP Management: Have a dedicated healer (Yukari is ideal). Use SP recovery items strategically. Don't be afraid to use SOMA if needed.
- Persona Versatility: The protagonist should have a wide array of Personas covering different elemental types, healing, and support. A Persona with 'Enduring Soul' or 'Firm Stance' is highly recommended for survival.
- Armageddon (Optional but Recommended): If you've completed the Elizabeth requests and have the necessary items (Infinity and Thunder Reign), fusing Armageddon can be a game-changer for the final phases, dealing immense Almighty damage.
Good luck, S.E.E.S.! The fate of the world rests on your shoulders. Prepare diligently, fight strategically, and claim your victory!
