Armor provides defensive bonuses. It increases a character's Defense stat, reducing the amount of physical damage they take. Like weapons, some armor pieces may also offer resistances to certain elements or status effects.
Accessories are the most versatile category, offering a wide range of stat boosts and special effects. These can increase Attack, Defense, HP, SP, or provide resistances to specific elements or status ailments. Some accessories even grant unique skills or passive abilities.
Key stats that equipment influences include:

The best equipment is often found in treasure chests within dungeons, dropped by powerful Shadows, or can be purchased from Daidara's Metal Works. Some unique weapons can also be obtained through quests or by fusing specific Personas.
It's important to tailor your equipment to the specific dungeon you are exploring and the enemies you expect to face. For example, equipping accessories that grant fire resistance is highly beneficial when facing enemies weak to ice, as they often utilize fire-based attacks.
Regularly visiting Daidara's Metal Works is crucial. He offers a wide array of weapons and armor, and some of his 'Special Weapons' can be crafted using materials found in dungeons. While some of these are intended for combat, certain crafted weapons can be sold back for a profit, aiding in money-making strategies.
