Fishing and bug catching are relaxing, optional activities that can provide valuable items. Fish can be exchanged for rare items at the Shiroku Store or used in recipes. Bugs are primarily used as bait for fishing. These activities are excellent ways to pass time when you have no other pressing engagements, especially on rainy days.
Fishing:
To fish, you first need a fishing rod. You can get a rod from the old man at the Samegawa Flood Plain. Different baits attract different fish. Larger fish yield better rewards. Fishing also requires a certain level of Diligence to catch rarer species. Experiment with different locations and baits.
Bug Catching:
Bugs can be caught at the Shrine during the day. You'll need a Bug Net, which can be obtained from the boy at the Shrine after completing a specific quest. Different bugs are available depending on the season and weather. These bugs are primarily used as bait for fishing, with rarer bugs attracting rarer fish.
