Yu Narukami (Protagonist): While largely a blank slate for the player, Yu's motivation stems from his transfer to Yasogami High and his subsequent involvement in the mysterious murders. His core drive is to uncover the truth, protect his friends, and find a sense of belonging in his new town. His growth is marked by his increasing confidence and his ability to inspire those around him.
Yosuke Hanamura: Yosuke's initial motivation is a mix of boredom with small-town life and a desire for excitement. He feels trapped in Inaba and seeks something more.
