Fishing is a relaxing yet rewarding side activity in Persona 4 Golden, allowing you to catch various fish that can be used for quests, cooking, or sold for cash. Mastering the fishing mini-game requires patience and understanding of the different rods, baits, and locations available throughout Inaba.
The fishing mechanic involves a series of timed button presses and directional movements to reel in your catch. Different fish require specific baits and are found in different locations, some of which are unlocked through story progression or by completing certain quests. Successfully catching rare fish can yield sificant rewards.
July 2nd - Daytime Activities
On July 2nd, after accepting Quest 11 and obtaining the "Unfinished Model," head to Yomenaido Bookstore. Purchase "Short on Cash" and "Expert Fishing" for 6300 yen. These items are essential for improving your fishing capabilities and progressing related quests.
July 2nd - Evening Activities
In the evening of July 2nd, maintain the garden with Nanako. This activity boosts your Diligence and relationship with Nanako. While not directly related to fishing, it contributes to your overall character development, which can indirectly benefit other activities.
July 3rd - Evening Activities
On July 3rd, maintain the garden again. This provides +1 Diligence and a relationship boost with Nanako and Dojima. Consistent garden maintenance is a good way to build social stats.
July 4th - Evening Activities
July 4th's evening activity is working on a plastic model, which grants +1 Diligence. This helps push your Diligence stat towards 'Thorough,' which is beneficial for unlocking certain Social Links and activities that might indirectly aid in fishing preparations.
July 5th - Evening Activities
Continue working on the plastic model on July 5th for another +1 Diligence. This consistent effort is key to maximizing your Diligence, which can unlock more advanced fishing opportunities or quests.
July 6th - Evening Activities
On July 6th, work on the plastic model again for +1 Diligence. This activity is crucial for reaching the 'Thorough' level in Diligence, which may be a prerequisite for certain fishing-related quests or interactions.
July 9th - Daytime Activities
On July 9th, accept Quest 12 from the Fox. This is important for the Hermit Social Link. Consider eating at Aiya for the Rainy Day Special Mega Beef Bowl Challenge (+1 Understanding, +1 Knowledge, +1 Courage) for 3000 yen. This meal can boost your stats, which might be helpful for fishing challenges.
July 12th - Dungeon Activity
On July 12th, you can revisit the Marukyu Striptease dungeon. A new boss, the Momentary Child, has appeared. Talking to the Fox inside the TV World (not the shrine) will grant you the Kingpin Duster outfit for Kanji. While not directly fishing, this dungeon exploration can yield useful items or experience.
