Tips & Secrets
Maximizing your time and character development in Persona 4 Golden is key to success. This section offers various tips, from managing your social links and daily activities to understanding game mechanics like difficulty settings and PC version enhancements. Strategic choices can significantly impact your playthrough.
- PC Version Enhancements: The 2020 PC release of Persona 4 Golden includes several upgrades:
- Bug fixes, such as a glitch when restarting battles too many times.
- Graphics can run at 60 FPS, an upgrade from the PS Vita's 30 FPS, along with anti-aliasing.
- Ability to enable Japanese audio and change text language.
- Difficulty can be adjusted from the start, not just in New Game Plus.
- Social Link Management:
- Adachi (Jester): Options during conversations don't always matter for ranking up. For example, on one specific day, choices like "You slacking off again?", "Good for you.", or "But doesn't it get lonely?" won't affect the rank-up, as it's blocked until later.
- Yukiko (Priestess): When spending time with Yukiko, choosing "You should've said more." can lead to her learning Mudoon.
- Ayane (Sun): When spending time with Ayane, choosing "Don't worry, you can do it!" can boost your relationship.
- Naoki (Hanged Man): When spending time with Naoki, choosing "Tell an American joke" and "Let the gossipers gossip." can boost your relationship.
- Stat Increases:
- Knowledge: Answering questions correctly in class, such as "Sphenopalatine ganglioneuralgia" on July 13th or "Kuukai" on July 14th, grants +1 Knowledge. Studying at home can also increase Knowledge, sometimes by +3.
- Expression: Answering "Pascal" in class on July 4th grants +1 Expression and a relationship boost with Yosuke.
- Diligence: Working on making a plastic model or maintaining the garden can increase Diligence. Maintaining the garden also provides a relationship boost with Nanako and Dojima.
- Courage: Checking the fridge on certain days (e.g., July 5th) can increase Courage without taking up the entire evening.
- Lunch Preparation: Nanako often stocks the fridge, allowing you to prepare lunch for the next day.
- Pudding: Using "Vanilla extract" makes Smooth Pudding (Good), while "Vanilla ice cream" makes Lumpy Pudding (Bad). "Cologne" should be thrown away.
- Fried Chicken: Using "Flour" makes good fried chicken. "Rice flour" should be thrown away.
- Daigaku-imo: "Deep fry them" makes Crunchy Daigaku-imo (Good). "Grill them on a grid" makes Toasty Daigaku-imo (Bad), and "Simmer them with sake" should be thrown away.
- Quests: Keep an eye out for available quests. For example, Quest 27 is available on July 12th, Quest 35 on July 13th, and Quest 34 on July 3rd.
