Party Setup:
- Protagonist: Maxed out Personas, especially those with powerful Almighty skills (Megidolaon, Black Viper, Morning Star), healing (Mediarahan, Samarecarm), and passive skills like Victory Cry, Enduring Soul, Spell Master. If on NG+, Izanagi-no-Okami is highly recommended.
- Yosuke: Garudyne, Brave Blade, Youthful Wind.
- Chie: God's Hand, Power Charge, Dragon Hustle.
- Yukiko: Agnidyne, Maragidyne, Mediarahan, Samarecarm, Burning Petals.
- Kanji: Primal Force, Ziodyne, Matarukaja.
- Teddie: Mabufudyne, Mediarahan, Marakukaja.
- Naoto: Megidolaon, Heat Riser, Debilitate.
Your party should be fully optimized with their ultimate Personas and best equipment. Naoto's Debilitate and Chie's Dragon Hustle are invaluable.
Strategy:
This is the ultimate boss fight of Persona 4, a multi-phase endurance test.
Phase 1: Izanami
Izanami uses powerful elemental attacks, Almighty skills (Megidolaon), and can inflict various status ailments. She also has 'World's End' (Almighty damage to all) and 'Kagutsuchi' (heavy Almighty damage to one).
- Focus on dealing consistent damage with your strongest attacks.
- Keep your HP high with Mediarahan.
- Use buffs (Dragon Hustle, Matarukaja, Marakukaja) and debuffs (Debilitate) constantly.
- Be prepared for heavy damage from her Almighty attacks.
Phase 2: Izanami-no-Okami
After taking significant damage, Izanami transforms into Izanami-no-Okami. This form is even more powerful, with devastating Almighty attacks and a unique mechanic.
- She will use 'Thousand Curses', which deals massive Almighty damage and can inflict various status ailments.
- She will also use 'World's End' and 'Kagutsuchi' more frequently.
- At a certain point, she will use 'Thousand Curses' and become invulnerable, stating that you cannot defeat her. This is the critical moment.
- You must use the 'Orb of Sight' (Key Item) from your inventory. This will reveal her true form and make her vulnerable again.
- After using the Orb of Sight, unleash your most powerful attacks. If you have Izanagi-no-Okami (NG+), use 'Myriad Truths' for massive damage.
- She will then use 'Kagutsuchi' repeatedly. You must survive these attacks. Your party members will eventually use their ultimate Personas to protect you.
- Finally, you will be prompted to use a special attack. Unleash your ultimate power to defeat her.
Rewards:
- True Ending achieved.
- Unlocks New Game+ (if you save after the credits).
