Recommended Level: 45-48

Weakness & Resistances:

  • Shadow Mitsuo: None.

Party Setup:

  • Protagonist: Personas with powerful physical skills (e.g., Power Charge + Rampage/Swift Strike), Almighty skills (Megidola), and healing.
  • Yosuke: Wind skills (Garudyne), physical attacks, Sukukaja.
  • Chie: Physical attacks (Power Charge + God's Hand), Tarukaja.
  • Yukiko: Fire skills (Agnidyne), healing (Mediarama).
  • Kanji: Elec skills (Ziodyne), physical attacks, Matarukaja.
  • Teddie: Ice skills (Bufudyne), healing (Mediarama), Marakukaja.

Choose a balanced party of 3 attackers/healers based on your preference. Chie and Kanji are excellent for physical damage.

Strategy:

Shadow Mitsuo is a unique boss with two distinct phases that require different approaches.

Phase 1 (8-bit Armor): Mitsuo is encased in an 8-bit armor shell. This shell is immune to all damage except for a specific number of hits. You need to hit him with 10 attacks (any type, physical or magical) to break the shell. Once the shell is broken, he becomes vulnerable.

  • Focus on using multi-hit physical skills (e.g., Swift Strike, Rampage) or low-cost elemental spells to quickly rack up hits and break the shell.
  • Don't waste powerful single-hit skills on the shell.

Phase 2 (Vulnerable): Once the shell is broken, Mitsuo is vulnerable. He will use various elemental attacks, Almighty skills (Megidola), and can inflict status ailments like 'Poison' and 'Silence'.

  • Unleash your strongest physical attacks (especially with Power Charge) and elemental spells.
  • Keep your party healed with Yukiko or Teddie.
  • Use buffs (Tarukaja, Matarukaja, Sukukaja, Marakukaja) and debuffs (Tarunda, Rakunda) to gain an advantage.
  • He can rebuild his shell after a few turns, so be prepared to break it again. The number of hits required to break the shell might increase slightly each time.

Rewards:

  • Unlocks the 'Hanged Man' Social Link (Naoki Konishi) if not already started.
