Combat Flow:

  1. Encounter: Initiate combat by striking a Shadow in the dungeon. A successful ambush grants your party an advantage.
  2. Turn Order: Determined by character and enemy Agility.
  3. Actions: Each character can perform one action per turn: Attack, Skill (Persona ability), Guard, Item, or Escape.

Persona System:

  • Protagonist's Wild Card Ability: The protagonist can wield multiple Personas, switching them in battle.
  • Persona Skills: Each Persona has unique skills (physical, magical, healing, support).
  • Elemental Weaknesses: Shadows have elemental weaknesses (Fire, Ice, Elec, Wind, Light, Dark, Pierce, Strike, Slash). Hitting a weakness grants a '1 More' turn.
  • 1 More: An extra turn for the character who exploited a weakness. Can be chained for devastating combos.
  • All-Out Attack: If all enemies are knocked down (via weakness exploitation or critical hits), you can initiate a powerful All-Out Attack.
  • Status Ailments: Various conditions (Poison, Fear, Dizzy, etc.) can turn the tide of battle.

Experiment with different Personas and party compositions to find effective strategies against various Shadows. Don't be afraid to fuse new Personas in the Velvet Room!

While Persona 4 retains the "1 More" system from Persona 3 Portable, it introduces the ability to directly control all party members during turn-based encounters.

While Persona 4 utilizes a traditional turn-based layout, Persona 5 Tactica reimagines the iconic "1 More" mechanic through the lens of grid-based positioning and strategic cover.
