Welcome to Inaba! April serves as your introduction to the world of Persona 4. This month is largely linear, focusing on story progression and tutorial elements. Pay close attention to the dialogue and events, as they set the stage for the entire game.

April 11th (Monday) - A New Beginning

  • Morning: You arrive in Inaba. After the initial cutscenes, you'll meet your new guardians, Ryotaro Dojima and his daughter, Nanako.
  • Afternoon: Explore your new home. You'll find your room upstairs. Interact with the various objects to get a feel for your surroundings.
  • Evening: The story will progress automatically. You'll have dinner with Dojima and Nanako.

April 12th (Tuesday) - First Day of School

  • Morning: Your first day at Yasogami High School. You'll meet your future classmates, Yosuke Hanamura and Chie Satonaka.
  • Classroom: Pay attention during class. Answering questions correctly can boost your Knowledge Social Stat. For today's question, the answer is "8 AM".
  • After School: The game will guide you through the initial events leading to the discovery of the "Midnight Channel."
  • Evening: Watch the Midnight Channel at home. This is a key event that kicks off the central mystery.

April 13th (Wednesday) - The Investigation Begins

  • Morning: More school events. You'll discuss the Midnight Channel with Yosuke and Chie.
  • After School: You'll visit the Junes Department Store. This is where you'll first encounter the mysterious TV world.
  • Junes: Follow Yosuke and Chie into the TV. This is your first taste of the dungeon crawling mechanics. Don't worry about combat yet; this section is purely for story.
  • Evening: The events of the day will conclude with a significant revelation.

April 14th (Thursday) - Awakening the Persona

  • Morning: The investigation continues. You'll learn more about the strange occurrences in Inaba.
  • After School: You'll return to the TV world. This time, you'll engage in your first battles.
  • TV World Combat:
    • Tutorial: The game will provide a basic combat tutorial. Pay attention to the "One More!" system and exploiting enemy weaknesses.
    • First Persona: You will awaken your initial Persona, Izanagi, during a boss battle.
    • Strategy: Focus on using Izanagi's Zio (Electric) spell. Many early Shadows are weak to Electric attacks.
    • Items: You'll likely receive a few Medicine items. These restore a small amount of HP.
  • Evening: The events of this day will solidify your role in the investigation.

April 15th (Friday) - Forming the Investigation Team

  • Morning: School life resumes, but with a new sense of purpose.
  • After School: You'll officially form the Investigation Team with Yosuke and Chie.
  • Social Link: You will establish your first Social Link, the Fool Arcana, with the Investigation Team. This Social Link progresses automatically with story events.
  • Evening: You'll have some free time. This is your first opportunity to explore Inaba and interact with other characters. Consider checking out the Shopping District, South for basic supplies.

April 16th (Saturday) - First Dungeon Exploration

  • Morning: The team decides to venture back into the TV world.
  • Dungeon: You'll enter the Yukiko's Castle dungeon. This is your first proper dungeon.
    • Goal: Your objective is to rescue Yukiko Amagi before the fog clears. You have until April 29th.
    • Shadows: Be mindful of the Shadows you encounter. Early Shadows include the Bribed Fuzz (weak to Ice) and the Positive King (weak to Fire).
    • Farming: It's a good idea to spend some time on the first few floors to level up your characters and gain some Yen.
    • Items: Look for treasure chests. You might find Soul Drops (restore SP) or basic healing items.
  • Evening: You'll return home. You can choose to rest or engage in other activities.

April 17th - April 28th: Dungeon Crawling and Social Stats

This period is your first real opportunity to manage your time. Your primary goal is to rescue Yukiko from Yukiko's Castle before April 29th. However, don't neglect your Social Stats and potential Social Links.

Key Activities:

  • Yukiko's Castle:
    • Exploration: Aim to reach the top floor of the castle. The boss awaits there.
    • Grinding: Spend time fighting Shadows to gain experience and money. Don't be afraid to leave and re-enter the dungeon if your HP/SP are low.
    • Persona Fusions: Visit the Velvet Room to fuse new Personas. Experiment with different combinations to get Personas with varied elemental skills.
    • Recommended Personas: Look for Personas with Ice (Bufu) and Fire (Agi) skills to cover common weaknesses.
    • Items: Stock up on Medical Kits and Soul Drops from the Shiroku Store in the Shopping District, South.
  • Social Stats:
    • Knowledge: Study at your desk (Evening), answer questions in class, or visit the Library (After School).
    • Courage: Eat at Aiya (Shopping District, North) or read certain books (once available).
    • Diligence: Work at the Envelope Factory (Evening) or clean your room.
    • Expression: Work at the Tutoring Job (Evening) or join the Drama/Band Club (once available).
    • Understanding: Work at the Hospital Janitor Job (Evening) or spend time with Nanako.

April 29th (Friday) - Deadline for Yukiko

  • Crucial Day: If you haven't rescued Yukiko by this day, you will face a Game Over.
  • Final Push: Ensure you have reached the top floor of Yukiko's Castle and defeated the boss.

By the end of April, you should have a good grasp of the game's core mechanics, including combat, dungeon exploration, and the importance of Social Stats and Social Links. Prepare for more challenges and deeper mysteries in May!
