Fishing is a relaxing and rewarding activity that can provide valuable items and even unlock a powerful Persona. You can fish at the Samegawa Flood Plain or the Shichiri Beach (after unlocking it). To start fishing, you'll need a fishing rod and bait.

How to Start:

  1. Get a Fishing Rod: Talk to the old man at the Samegawa Flood Plain. He'll give you a rod after you give him a 'Genji Ayu' (found in the river).
  2. Get Bait: You can buy bait from the Shiroku Store or find it in dungeons.

Fishing Mechanics:

  • Cast: Press X to cast your line.
  • Wait for a Bite: Watch the bobber. When it dips significantly, press X.
  • Reel In: Once a fish bites, a mini-game begins. Press X repeatedly to reel it in. The faster you press, the faster you reel.
  • Fish Types: Different fish appear in different locations and weather conditions. Some are rare and require special bait.

Rewards:

  • Fish: Can be exchanged for prizes at the Shiroku Store or used in recipes.
  • Items: Sometimes you'll catch items instead of fish.
  • Guardian: Catching the 'Guardian' fish at the Samegawa Flood Plain and then at Shichiri Beach is required to unlock the 'Hermit' Social Link's ultimate Persona.

Fishing is a good way to pass time on rainy days or when you have no other pressing activities. It's also essential for 100% completion.
