Beyond battling Shadows, building relationships (Social Links) and improving your personal attributes (Social Stats) are crucial for success in Persona 4. These systems are deeply intertwined and offer significant benefits.

Social Links:

• Arcana Bonus: When fusing a Persona, if you have an active Social Link of the same Arcana, the new Persona receives bonus experience. Higher Social Link rank means more bonus experience.
• Unlocking Personas: Maxing out certain Social Links unlocks the ability to fuse the ultimate Persona of that Arcana.
• Story & Character Development: Social Links provide deep insights into the characters and expand the game's narrative.
• Availability: Most Social Links are only available on specific days, times, and weather conditions. Check your Social Link menu for hints.
• Dialogue Choices: Choosing the right dialogue options during Social Link events will earn you more 'affinity points,' helping the link rank up faster. Having a Persona of the matching Arcana equipped also boosts affinity gains.

• Courage: Required for certain dialogue options, Social Links, and activities.
• Knowledge: Affects exam results and unlocks certain Social Links/activities.
• Expression: Influences dialogue options and unlocks certain Social Links/activities.
• Diligence: Affects success rate of part-time jobs and unlocks certain Social Links/activities.
• Understanding: Influences dialogue options and unlocks certain Social Links/activities.

You can improve Social Stats by studying, reading books, eating at Aiya, working part-time jobs, and participating in club activities. Prioritize raising these stats early on to unlock more opportunities.
