Progressing through the game and forming bonds with Confidants is a core mechanic in Persona 5 Royal. However, many Confidants have specific social stat requirements that must be met before you can deepen your relationship with them. These stats—Knowledge, Guts, Proficiency, Kindness, and Charm—are built through various daily activities and choices, making their consistent development crucial for unlocking the full potential of your social links.

Each Confidant has unique prerequisites, often tied to their personality and the nature of their story. Here are some general requirements and examples:

Knowledge: Essential for understanding complex topics and engaging in intellectual conversations. Many Confidants, especially those related to academics or research, will require a certain level of Knowledge. For example, Hifumi Togo (Star) requires a decent Knowledge level to progress effectively.
Guts: Represents your courage and assertiveness. Confidants who deal with challenging situations or require bold actions, like Ryuji Sakamoto (Chariot) or Yusuke Kitagawa (Emperor), might benefit from or require higher Guts.
Proficiency: This stat is built through activities like crafting, playing video games, or working part-time jobs. It's often linked to Confidants who appreciate hands-on skills or require assistance with practical tasks. The Strength Confidant, for instance, often involves activities that build Proficiency.
