Persona Compendium & Registration
The Persona Compendium is an indispensable tool in Persona 5 Royal, allowing you to re-summon Personas you've previously obtained. This feature is crucial for completing your Persona collection, fusing powerful new Personas, and fulfilling certain in-game objectives and trophy requirements, such as "Mask Collector." Understanding how to use it efficiently can save you sificant time and resources.
The Persona Compendium is accessed through Igor in the Velvet Room. Initially, it only contains basic Personas. As you acquire new Personas through combat, fusion, or negotiation, they are automatically registered in the Compendium. You can then purchase these registered Personas back from the Compendium for a certain amount of Yen. The cost is dependent on the Persona's level and stats.
Registering Personas is automatic upon acquisition. However, if you fuse a Persona or level it up, its entry in the Compendium is updated. This means if you fuse a Persona, then level it up and acquire new skills, you'll need to re-register it to update its record in the Compendium. This is important if you plan to re-summon a stronger version of that Persona later.
The Compendium is vital for several reasons. Firstly, it allows you to experiment with fusions without the fear of permanently losing a valuable Persona. If a fusion doesn't turn out as planned, you can simply re-summon the original Persona from the Compendium. Secondly, it's essential for completing the Persona Compendium trophy, which requires you to register a certain number of unique Personas.
Furthermore, certain Mementos Requests and side quests may require you to fuse specific Personas. Having them registered in the Compendium makes this process much smoother. The "A Sublime Mask" trophy, for example, requires you to raise one of your Personas to level 99, and the Compendium is where you'll manage and re-summon that Persona as you work towards this goal.
