Persona Acquisition: The Art of Fusion
Personas are the manifestations of the Phantom Thieves' rebellious spirits, and acquiring new ones is central to combat progression. The primary method of obtaining new Personas is through fusion, a process conducted in the Velvet Room where two or more Personas are combined to create a more powerful one. This system allows for deep customization and strategic team building.
When fusing Personas, the resulting Persona inherits skills from its 'parents.' This is where strategic planning comes into play. You can select which skills you want to pass down, allowing you to create Personas with specific elemental coverage, buffs, debuffs, or healing capabilities. It's essential to check the skills of the Personas you intend to fuse and plan ahead to create Personas that complement your party's needs and exploit enemy weaknesses.
The Strength Confidant, particularly Rank 10 with the Twin Wardens, Justine and Caroline, unlocks the ability to fuse special ultimate Personas. Additionally, certain story progression points and Confidant ranks unlock new fusion recipes or allow for the fusion of higher-level Personas. Always remember to register your newly fused Personas in the Velvet Room before dismissing or sacrificing them, ensuring you can resummon them later if needed. This registration acts as a permanent record of their stats and skills.
| Fusion Method | Purpose | Key Considerations |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Fusion | Combine 2+ Personas | Skill inheritance, Arcana matching |
| Special Fusion | Requires specific Personas | Unlocks powerful, unique Personas |
