This is vital for maximizing your playthrough, especially if aiming for a 100% completion or specific endings.

Key Principles for Relationship Management:

Arcana Matching: Always try to have a Persona of the same Arcana as the Confidant you are spending time with. This sificantly speeds up rank progression. For example, if you're hanging out with Ryuji (Chariot), equip a Chariot Persona.
Dialogue Choices: Pay close attention to dialogue options during Confidant events. Choosing the correct responses yields the most relationship points, ensuring you reach the next rank efficiently. Incorrect answers can slow down progression or even require extra time to compensate.
Prioritize Key Confidants: Some Confidants offer invaluable combat abilities (e.g., Takemi's discounts, Iwai's gun upgrades, Tae's medical supplies). Prioritizing their ranks can greatly ease your journey.
Story-Progression Confidants: Certain Confidants, like the Fool, Magician, and Justice Arcanas, rank up automatically as the story progresses. You don't need to actively manage these, but be aware of their Arcana for matching bonuses when they are available.
