March: Farewell
The month of March in Persona 5 Royal is a bittersweet period, marking the culmination of your journey as the Phantom Thieves. While there are no new Palaces or Mementos requests, this time is dedicated to tying up loose ends, cherishing final moments with your Confidants, and preparing for the game's emotional conclusion. This section will guide you through maximizing your final days and ensuring you experience everything Royal has to offer before the credits roll.
Final Preparations & Confidant Goodbyes
As the calendar turns to March, your primary focus should shift from combat and stat-grinding to personal connections. If you haven't already, aim to max out any remaining Confidants. Remember, reaching Rank 10 with a Confidant unlocks their ultimate Persona and provides powerful benefits for New Game+.
- Confidant Hangouts: Prioritize spending time with any Confidants you haven't maxed out. Even if you can't reach Rank 10, completing their available ranks will grant you their final abilities and a more complete story experience.
- Gift Giving: If a Confidant is close to ranking up but you're out of time, consider giving them a gift that boosts their affection. Check your inventory for items like the Designer Perfume (for female Confidants), Luxury Aroma Set, or unique gifts purchased from various shops throughout Tokyo.
- Social Stats: While less critical now, if you have any social stats (Knowledge, Guts, Proficiency, Kindness, Charm) that are not at Rank 5, this is your last chance to boost them. Activities like reading books (e.g., The Great Thief for Guts, Speed Reader for Knowledge), watching movies, or working part-time jobs can still provide small boosts.
The Day of Farewells: March 19th
March 19th is a significant date, as it marks the day you'll say your final goodbyes to your friends before leaving Tokyo. This day is largely cinematic, but there are a few interactive elements to be aware of.
- Morning: You'll wake up and have a final conversation with Sojiro.
- Afternoon: The game will prompt you to meet with your Confidants. The order in which you meet them is largely up to you, but the dialogue will reflect your relationship with them.
- Important Note: If you have maxed out the Confidant for a character, you will receive a special Key Item from them. These items carry over to New Game+ and provide a significant boost to that Confidant's initial rank in your next playthrough. collect all of them!
- Examples of Key Items include: Sojiro's Coffee Mug (Hierophant), Ryuji's Sports Watch (Chariot), Ann's Compact (Lovers), Yusuke's Sketchbook (Emperor), Makoto's Student ID (Priestess), Futaba's Promise Note (Hermit), Haru's Seedling (Empress), Kasumi's Hairpin (Faith), and Akechi's Glove (Justice).
- Evening: After meeting with everyone, you'll return to Leblanc for a final scene.
The True Ending & New Game+ Considerations
To achieve the true ending of Persona 5 Royal, ensure you have successfully completed the third semester content (Maruki's Palace) and defeated the final boss. If you've done so, the events of March will lead to the game's most satisfying conclusion.
