Persona Fusion: The Heart of Your Phantom Thieves
Persona Fusion is a cornerstone of your power in Persona 5 Strikers. By combining two or more Personas, you can create a new, more powerful Persona with a different set of skills. This process is essential for tailoring your team's abilities to overcome the challenges presented by the various Jails and their unique Shadow inhabitants.
The Fusion Process
Access the Fusion menu from the Velvet Room, typically available in your base of operations or at desated points within the Metaverse. The game will present you with a list of available Personas you can fuse, based on the Personas currently in your possession. The resulting Persona's level and inherited skills are influenced by the Personas used in the fusion.
Skill Inheritance: Strategic Skill Selection
When fusing Personas, you'll have the opportunity to inherit skills from the "parent" Personas. This is where the true strategic depth of Persona Fusion lies. You can choose which skills to pass down, allowing you to create Personas with specific elemental affinities, buffs, debuffs, or powerful attacking spells. Prioritize skills that exploit enemy weaknesses or cover your party's vulnerabilities.
Skill Cards: A Versatile Tool
Skill Cards offer another way to customize your Personas. These consumable items, obtained through various means such as defeating Shadows, completing Requests, or purchasing them, allow you to teach a specific skill to any Persona that can learn it. This provides immense flexibility, enabling you to transfer powerful skills like "Megidolaon" or "Rakukaja" to Personas that wouldn't normally learn them through fusion. Keep an eye out for rare Skill Cards that can sificantly boost your combat effectiveness.
Maximizing Your Persona Builds
Experimentation is key. Don't be afraid to fuse and re-fuse Personas to achieve the optimal skill set for your playstyle. Consider the strengths and weaknesses of each Phantom Thief and build Personas that complement their roles. For example, a Persona with strong healing skills would be invaluable for Makoto, while a Persona with high critical hit potential would benefit Joker.
