September

Welcome to September, Phantom Thieves! This month is packed with story progression, new Confidant opportunities, and crucial social stat development. We'll be focusing on maximizing our time to prepare for the challenges ahead.

Early September: Post-Summer Activities & Story Progression

The first week of September sees you back at Shujin Academy, but don't expect things to be quiet for long. Focus on these key activities:

  • September 1st: School resumes. You'll have some story events to get through.
  • September 2nd: After school, you'll likely have an opportunity to hang out with a Confidant. Prioritize those close to ranking up, especially if you have a matching Persona.
  • September 3rd - 5th: These days often present opportunities for Mementos requests or deepening Confidant bonds. If you haven't cleared the current Mementos requests, now is a good time. Remember to bring a Persona of the matching arcana for bonus affinity points.
  • September 6th: Story events will unfold, leading to the introduction of a new major plot point. Be prepared for some intense dialogue and character development.

Mid-September: New Confidant & Palace Preparations

Mid-September brings a significant new Confidant and the looming threat of a new Palace. Efficiency is key here.

  • September 10th: A new Confidant, the Fortune Arcana (Chihaya Mifune), becomes available in Shinjuku. Unlocking her requires a payment of 100,000 Yen, but her abilities are incredibly useful for boosting Confidant relationships. Make this a priority if you have the funds.
  • September 11th - 14th: Focus on raising your Charm and Knowledge social stats. Reading books from the school library or Shibuya bookstore (e.g., "The Art of Charm," "Expert Gardening") can be highly effective. Studying at the diner or at home also works.
  • September 15th: The new Palace will be revealed. This is your cue to start stocking up on healing items like Soul Drops and Snuff Souls from vending machines or the Shibuya drug store. Ensure your equipment is up to date at Iwai's shop in Shibuya.

Late September: Palace Infiltration & Social Stat Grind

The latter half of September is dedicated to the new Palace and continuing to strengthen your social stats and Confidants.

  • September 19th - 22nd: Begin your infiltration of the new Palace. Aim to complete the initial exploration and secure a safe room within these days. Don't feel pressured to finish it in one go. Remember to exploit enemy weaknesses and use Baton Passes for maximum damage.
  • September 23rd: After a Palace run, take a break and focus on a Confidant or social stat. Consider visiting the Bathhouse in Yongen-Jaya to boost your Charm, or working at the Crossroads Bar in Shinjuku for Proficiency and money.
  • September 24th - 27th: Continue your Palace infiltration. Your goal should be to send the calling card by the end of the month. If you're struggling, consider fusing stronger Personas in the Velvet Room. Look for Personas with good elemental coverage and support skills.
  • September 28th - 30th: Final push for the Palace. Once the calling card is sent, you'll have a few days before the boss fight. Use this time to grind in Mementos for experience and money, or to finish any pending Confidant ranks.

Key Confidant Opportunities

Throughout September, keep an eye out for these important Confidant advancements:

  • Fortune (Chihaya Mifune): Once unlocked, her abilities are invaluable for speeding up other Confidant ranks. Utilize her "Affinity Reading" ability frequently.
  • Temperance (Sadayo Kawakami): Her Confidant abilities become increasingly useful, allowing you to perform more activities after school or at night. Prioritize her if you haven't maxed her out.
  • Death (Tae Takemi): Her medical supplies are crucial for Palace runs. Continue to advance her Confidant to unlock better healing items and discounts.

Recommended Activities & Items

  • Books: Always carry a book to read on the train for free social stat points. Check the Shibuya bookstore for new titles.
  • DVDs: Rent DVDs from the Shibuya rental shop to watch at Leblanc for social stat boosts.
  • Fishing: The Ichigaya fishing pond is a great way to pass time and earn money for items, especially if you're low on funds.
  • Gardening: tend to your plant in your room for free Kindness points. Use Nutrients from the Shibuya flower shop for bigger boosts.
  • Crossroads Bar: Working here at night boosts Proficiency and earns Yen.
  • Diner: Studying at the diner boosts Knowledge and a random social stat depending on the menu item.
