Confront a Team Plasma Grunt in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, battling his Patrat or Purrloin. Reunite a Herdier and receive an Oran Berry.

Confront the Team Plasma Grunt who is bothering the Herdier. He will challenge you to a battle. He typically uses a Patrat or Purrloin. This battle should be manageable with your current team. After defeating him, he'll flee, and the Herdier will be reunited with its owners. As a reward, the Ranch owners will give you an Oran Berry. Hugh will also be present during this event, further solidifying his rivalry and shared goal of stopping Team Plasma.

With the Herdier safely returned, Alder will reappear and challenge you to a battle with his two Lillipup. This battle is designed to test your understanding of type matchups and basic strategy. After defeating Alder, he will commend your progress and suggest you head back to Aspertia City to challenge the Gym Leader. Before leaving Floccesy Town, make sure your Pokémon are healed at the Pokémon Center and you have enough Poké Balls and Potions. Head back east through Route 19 to Aspertia City.
