Daily and Weekly Events

Beyond the main story and post-game challenges, Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 offer a plethora of daily and weekly activities designed to keep trainers engaged and provide valuable resources. Integrating these events into your routine can significantly boost your item collection, Pokémon training, and overall game progression.

Daily Events

These events reset every 24 hours, offering consistent opportunities for rewards.

Join Avenue

Join Avenue, located on Route 5, is a bustling hub that grows and thrives based on your interactions with other players (via local wireless or Wi-Fi) and NPCs. Each day, new visitors will appear, offering various services:

  • Shops: Different shops (e.g., Dojo, Nursery, Salon, Market) will appear, each specializing in specific services.
    • Dojo: Offers stat-boosting training for your Pokémon.
    • Nursery: Can level up your Pokémon or hatch Eggs faster.
    • Salon: Increases your Pokémon's happiness.
    • Market: Sells rare items, including evolution stones, Berries, and even some held items.
  • Recommendations: Talk to visitors and recommend shops to them. This increases your Avenue's rank and attracts more diverse visitors, leading to better services and items.
  • Item Sales: Check the Market daily for rotating stock. You might find valuable items like Rare Candies, Heart Scales, or even specific Apricorns.

Strategy: Make it a habit to visit Join Avenue daily. Prioritize recommending shops to maximize your Avenue's rank. Investing in the Dojo and Nursery can significantly speed up EV training and Pokémon leveling.

Hidden Grottoes

Scattered across Unova, Hidden Grottoes are small, secluded areas that replenish daily with either a wild Pokémon (often with its Hidden Ability), a rare item, or both. There are 10 Hidden Grottoes in total:

  • Route 2
  • Route 3
  • Route 5
  • Route 6
  • Route 7
  • Route 9
  • Route 13
  • Route 18
  • Pinwheel Forest
  • Lostlorn Forest

Strategy: Check all Hidden Grottoes daily, especially if you're hunting for specific Hidden Ability Pokémon or rare items like evolutionary stones (e.g., Dusk Stone, Shiny Stone) or valuable Berries. The contents are randomized each day, so persistence is key.

Battle Institute

Located in Driftveil City, the Battle Institute allows you to test your team's mettle against a series of trainers. You can participate once per day. Winning battles earns you Battle Points (BP), which can be exchanged for valuable items at the Battle Subway or Pokémon World Tournament facilities.

Strategy: Even if you're not a competitive battler, participating daily can net you a steady stream of BP for items like Choice Scarf, Life Orb, or Ability Capsules.

Daily Berries

Several NPCs throughout Unova will give you free Berries daily:

  • Striaton City: A woman in the house next to the Pokémon Center gives you a random Berry.
  • Nimbasa City: A clown near the Ferris wheel gives you a random Berry.
  • Castelia City: A woman in the alleyway near the Pokémon Center gives you a random Berry.

Strategy: These free Berries can be useful for cooking in the Join Avenue's Market or for specific battle strategies.

Daily Items

  • Castelia City: In the building south of the Pokémon Center, a man on the 11th floor will give you a different item each day (e.g., Soda Pop, Lemonade, Full Heal).
  • Driftveil City: A woman in the house west of the Pokémon Center will give you a random item daily (e.g., Great Ball, Super Potion).
  • Lentimas Town: A woman in the house near the Pokémon Center will give you a random item daily.

Strategy: These daily items, while often common, can save you money on basic supplies.

Weekly Events

These events reset once a week, typically on a specific day.

Pokémon World Tournament (PWT)

While the PWT in Driftveil City can be challenged at any time, certain tournaments, like the World Leaders Tournament, offer unique challenges and rewards. The roster of opponents in some tournaments can rotate weekly, providing fresh challenges.

Strategy: Check the PWT regularly for new tournaments or to re-challenge existing ones for more BP and bragging rights.

Musical Props

In Nimbasa City, you can receive new musical props for the Pokémon Musical once a week from the owner of the Musical Theater. These props can be used to customize your Pokémon's appearance during performances.

Strategy: If you enjoy the Pokémon Musical, pick up your new props weekly to expand your collection.

Lost Item

In Nimbasa City, a woman in the Battle Institute will ask you to find her lost item. This quest can be completed once a week. The item's location changes, but it's usually found somewhere within Nimbasa City. Returning it rewards you with a valuable item, often a rare Berry or a useful held item.

Strategy: This is a quick and easy weekly task for a good reward. Keep an eye out for sparkling spots on the ground in Nimbasa City.

Big Stadium and Small Court

Located in Nimbasa City, these sports facilities offer daily battles against trainers. While the trainers refresh daily, the overall challenge and potential for higher rewards can be seen as a weekly progression as you defeat more trainers.

Strategy: These are excellent spots for grinding experience and earning money. The trainers here are generally stronger than those on routes, providing better EXP yields.

By diligently participating in these daily and weekly events, you'll find yourself with a stronger team, a richer item inventory, and a more comprehensive Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 experience.
