Technical Machines (TMs) teach Pokémon new moves. In Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, TMs are single-use items, so choose wisely! They can be found throughout the region, purchased from Poké Marts, or obtained as rewards. Hidden Machines (HMs) are special moves like Cut, Fly, and Surf that are used both in battle and to navigate the overworld. Once a Pokémon learns an HM, it cannot forget it without the Move Deleter.
Key HMs:
- Cut: Cuts down small trees.
- Fly: Instantly travel to previously visited towns.
- Surf: Travel across water.
- Strength: Move large boulders.
- Rock Smash: Break small rocks.
- Waterfall: Climb waterfalls.
- Defog: Clear fog from routes.
