Unlike most Pokémon games, you don't customize your character's appearance. You play as Wes, a former Team Snagem member, and are accompanied by Rui, a girl with the ability to see Shadow Pokémon. Your journey begins with a pre-determined team, which is a significant departure from the usual starter Pokémon choice.
Your initial Pokémon are Espeon and Umbreon, both at Level 25. These Eeveelutions are incredibly versatile and will be the backbone of your team for a significant portion of the game. Espeon is a Psychic-type with high Special Attack and Speed, making it excellent for offensive maneuvers. Umbreon is a Dark-type with high Defense and Special Defense, serving as a reliable tank and support Pokémon. Understanding their strengths and weaknesses early on will be crucial for success in the challenging double battles you'll face.
