- Snag Machine: Your most important tool, stolen from Team Snagem. Allows you to snag Shadow Pokémon from other trainers. You obtain this at the very beginning of the game.
- P*DA (Personal Data Assistant): Your in-game menu, providing access to your Pokémon, Bag, Save function, and more.
- Cologne Case: Obtained in Agate Village. Allows you to use various scents (purchased from the shop in Agate Village) to reduce a Shadow Pokémon's Heart Gauge more quickly. Different scents have different effects and costs.
- Amulet Coin: Held by a Pokémon, doubles the money earned from battles. Extremely useful for farming money to buy items. Found in the Mayor's Mansion in Phenac City.
- Exp. Share: Distributes experience to a Pokémon not actively battling. Useful for leveling up newly snagged Shadow Pokémon. Obtained from a scientist in the Cipher Lab.
- TMs (Technical Machines) & HMs (Hidden Machines): TMs teach a move once, HMs can be used infinitely. TMs are found throughout the world or purchased. HMs are crucial for navigating the environment (e.g., Surf, Strength, Cut, Fly).
