Walkthrough: Agate Village
Welcome to Agate Village, a serene and vital hub for your journey! This section will guide you through all the essential interactions, item acquisitions, and strategic preparations you'll need to make here.
Arrival and Initial Exploration
Upon your arrival in Agate Village, you'll immediately notice its unique, tree-dominated architecture. Your first priority is to speak with the elder and begin the process of purifying Shadow Pokémon.
- Heal Your Pokémon: Head straight to the Pokémon Center, located near the entrance. It's crucial to have your team at full health before exploring or engaging in any battles.
- Meet the Elder: Proceed to the large, central tree house. Inside, you'll find the village elder. Speak with her to learn about the village's purpose and the purification chamber.
- Access the Purification Chamber: The elder will grant you access to the Purification Chamber, a critical facility for restoring Shadow Pokémon to their normal state. This is where you'll spend a lot of time throughout the game, so familiarize yourself with its layout.
Key Locations and NPCs
Agate Village offers several important services and opportunities. visit each of these spots:
- Pokémon Center: As mentioned, this is your go-to for healing your team. It's also a good place to chat with NPCs for hints.
- Pokémon Mart: Stock up on essential items! The Agate Village Mart offers a good selection of Poké Balls, Potions, and other recovery items. grab some Great Balls if you haven't already, as they'll be invaluable for Snagging stronger Shadow Pokémon.
- Purification Chamber: Located in the elder's tree house. This is where you place Shadow Pokémon to purify them. Remember that purification is a gradual process that involves walking around with the Pokémon in your party or using specific items.
- Relic Stone: A unique feature of Agate Village. Once a Shadow Pokémon's Heart Gauge is completely empty, bring it here to fully purify it. Interact with the stone, and your Pokémon will be restored, learning a special move in the process.
- Move Tutor: In one of the smaller tree houses, you'll find a Move Tutor. For a small fee (or sometimes for free, depending on the move), they can teach your Pokémon new moves or remind them of forgotten ones. This is particularly useful for optimizing your team's movesets.
Item Hunting and Hidden Treasures
Agate Village, like many areas in Orre, hides a few useful items. Keep your eyes peeled and interact with everything!
- Full Heal: Check behind the Pokémon Center. There's often a hidden item here.
- Hyper Potion: Explore the paths leading to the various tree houses. One of the secluded corners usually holds a valuable recovery item.
- TM30 (Shadow Ball): This is a crucial find! Speak to the old man in the tree house near the Relic Stone. He will give you this powerful Ghost-type TM, which is excellent for many Special Attackers.
Preparing for the Next Challenge
Before leaving Agate Village, ensure your team is well-prepared. This includes:
- Purifying Shadow Pokémon: Prioritize purifying any Shadow Pokémon you've recently snagged. A purified Pokémon is stronger and more reliable in battle.
- Leveling Up: If your team is under-leveled, consider battling trainers you might have skipped or engaging in some wild Pokémon encounters (though these are rare in Orre).
- Team Composition: Review your current team. Do you have a good balance of types? Are your movesets optimized? Agate Village is a great place to make adjustments.
Once you've thoroughly explored Agate Village and taken care of all your preparations, you'll be ready to continue your adventure to the next destination!
