Cipher Admin Nascour

Nascour is the first of the two final bosses you'll encounter. His team is a formidable lineup of high-level, fully evolved Pokémon designed to push your limits. Be prepared for a long and intense battle, as his Shadow Pokémon, Tyranitar, is one of the most sought-after in the game.

Nascour's Team & Strategy

Nascour employs a diverse and powerful team, each member capable of inflicting significant damage. Your strategy should focus on exploiting type weaknesses while prioritizing the snagging of his Shadow Tyranitar.

  • Metagross (Steel/Psychic, Level 50): A pseudo-legendary with high Attack and Defense.
    • Weaknesses: Fire, Ground, Ghost, Dark.
    • Strategy: Bring a strong Fire-type like your own Blaziken or Arcanine, or a Ground-type like Donphan.
  • Salamence (Dragon/Flying, Level 50): Another pseudo-legendary with high Attack and Speed.
    • Weaknesses: Ice (4x), Rock, Dragon.
    • Strategy: An Ice-type move will be devastating. Walrein or Articuno (if you have it from a trade) are excellent choices.
  • Slaking (Normal, Level 50): Possesses incredibly high Attack and HP, but its ability Truant forces it to skip every other turn.
    • Weaknesses: Fighting.
    • Strategy: Use its Truant ability to your advantage. Attack on its active turn, then use the skipped turn to heal, switch Pokémon, or set up. A powerful Fighting-type like Hariyama or Machamp will deal massive damage.
  • Walrein (Ice/Water, Level 50): A bulky special attacker.
    • Weaknesses: Electric, Grass, Fighting, Rock.
    • Strategy: Electric-types like Manectric or Jolteon, or Grass-types like Sceptile or Venusaur, will be very effective.
  • Blaziken (Fire/Fighting, Level 50): A fast mixed attacker.
    • Weaknesses: Flying, Ground, Water, Psychic.
    • Strategy: Ground-types like Donphan, Water-types like Swampert or Suicune, or Psychic-types like Alakazam will counter it well.
  • Shadow Tyranitar (Rock/Dark, Level 50): Nascour's signature Shadow Pokémon and a top-tier threat.
    • Weaknesses: Fighting (4x), Grass, Ground, Water, Bug, Steel.
    • Strategy: This is your primary target for snagging. A strong Fighting-type Pokémon with moves like Cross Chop or Sky Uppercut will be incredibly effective for reducing its HP quickly. Utilize status conditions like Sleep or Paralysis to make snagging easier. Remember to use Great Balls or Ultra Balls, as its snag rate is low.

Recommended Loadout for Nascour

  • Snagging Pokémon: Bring a Pokémon with False Swipe or a move that leaves 1 HP, and status-inducing moves (Sleep Powder, Spore, Thunder Wave, Hypnosis). A Pokémon like Smeargle or Breloom can be invaluable.
  • Type Coverage: Ensure your team has strong counters for Nascour's diverse types, especially Fighting-types for Slaking and Tyranitar, Ice-types for Salamence, and Fire/Ground-types for Metagross.
  • Healing Items: Stock up on Hyper Potions, Full Restores, Full Heals, and Revives. This battle is a war of attrition.
  • Snag Balls: Carry at least 30-40 Ultra Balls. Great Balls can also work if you're low on Ultra Balls.

Rewards for Defeating Nascour

Upon defeating Nascour, you will gain immediate access to the final confrontation with Grand Master Evice. There are no other specific item rewards from Nascour himself, as the primary reward is the opportunity to snag the powerful Shadow Tyranitar and progress the story.

Grand Master Evice

After Nascour, there's no time to rest. You'll immediately face Grand Master Evice, the true leader of Cipher. Evice's team is just as formidable, culminating in another powerful Shadow Pokémon that you'll want to add to your collection.

Evice's Team & Strategy

Evice's team is designed to be a final gauntlet, featuring Pokémon with high stats and dangerous movesets. Your focus will be on managing your remaining resources from the Nascour battle and snagging the final Shadow Pokémon.

  • Snorlax (Normal, Level 50): A notoriously bulky Pokémon with high HP and Attack.
    • Weaknesses: Fighting.
    • Strategy: Your Fighting-type Pokémon that handled Slaking and Tyranitar will be perfect here. Be wary of its high Special Defense if you're using special attacks.
  • Machamp (Fighting, Level 50): A pure Fighting-type with high Attack.
    • Weaknesses: Flying, Psychic.
    • Strategy: Psychic-types like Alakazam or Gardevoir, or Flying-types like Salamence or Crobat, will make quick work of Machamp.
  • Scizor (Bug/Steel, Level 50): A powerful physical attacker with a critical 4x weakness.
    • Weaknesses: Fire (4x).
    • Strategy: A single strong Fire-type move, even from a moderately strong Fire Pokémon, can one-shot Scizor. Blaziken, Arcanine, or even a well-trained Magcargo will be highly effective.
  • Alakazam (Psychic, Level 50): A lightning-fast special attacker with high Special Attack.
    • Weaknesses: Bug, Ghost, Dark.
    • Strategy: Dark-types like Umbreon or Tyranitar (if you snagged it!) are excellent counters. Ghost-types like Gengar or Dusclops also work well.
  • Slowbro (Water/Psychic, Level 50): A bulky special attacker and defender.
    • Weaknesses: Grass, Electric, Bug, Ghost, Dark.
    • Strategy: Grass-types like Sceptile or Venusaur, or Electric-types like Manectric or Jolteon, will be very effective.
  • Shadow Metagross (Steel/Psychic, Level 50): Evice's ultimate Shadow Pokémon in international versions of the game. This is always a Shadow Metagross, regardless of previous snags.
    • Weaknesses: Fire, Ground, Ghost, Dark.
    • Strategy: Similar to Nascour's Metagross, Fire-type and Ground-type attacks are your best bet for reducing its HP. Steel/Psychic is a strong defensive typing, so be prepared for a sustained effort. Utilize status conditions (Sleep, Paralysis) and your best snag balls (Ultra Balls) to secure this final Shadow Pokémon.

Recommended Loadout for Evice

Your team from Nascour should still be viable, but consider these points:

  • Heal Up: Use Full Restores and Revives between battles if possible, or during the battle if necessary.
  • Snagging Focus: Ensure your designated snagging Pokémon (with False Swipe and status moves) is ready for Shadow Metagross.
  • Fire Power: A strong Fire-type is crucial for Scizor.
  • Dark/Ghost Types: Useful for Alakazam and Slowbro.
  • Ultra Balls: Ensure you have enough remaining for Shadow Metagross, which has a low snag rate.

Rewards for Defeating Evice

Defeating Grand Master Evice marks the triumphant conclusion of the main story in Pokémon Colosseum. The credits will roll, signifying your victory over Cipher and the restoration of peace to Orre. Beyond the satisfaction of completing the game and snagging the final Shadow Pokémon, you will also unlock:

  • Post-Game Content: Access to the Battle Mode, where you can challenge various trainers and test your team's strength.
  • Purification Chamber: The ability to fully utilize the Purification Chamber for faster Shadow Pokémon purification.
  • Miror B. Rematches: Miror B. will reappear in various locations throughout Orre, offering opportunities to snag additional Shadow Pokémon you may have missed.
  • Trainer Card Upgrade: Your Trainer Card will be updated to reflect your status as a hero of Orre.

Congratulations, Snagger! You have completed your journey and saved the Orre region from the clutches of Cipher.

While Pokémon Colosseum focuses on the tactical depth of Shadow Pokémon in double battles, Pokemon Unite emphasizes real-time coordination and strategic area control within a competitive arena.

While Evice’s team relies on diverse type coverage, the Primal Reversion mechanics introduced in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire provide a far more explosive tactical shift.
