The Purification Chamber is your primary tool for purifying Shadow Pokémon in Pokémon Colosseum. Located in the basement of the Pokémon HQ Lab, this advanced facility allows you to accelerate the purification process by strategically arranging your Pokémon. Understanding its mechanics is crucial for efficiently restoring Shadow Pokémon to their normal state.

Accessing the Purification Chamber

Complete the Story Segment: You will gain access to the Purification Chamber after defeating Miror B. at the Pyrite Town Colosseum and rescuing the scientist from the Shadow Pokémon Lab.
Travel to Pokémon HQ Lab: Use the Hyper Bike or a Teleporter to reach the Pokémon HQ Lab.
Locate the Basement: Head to the basement level of the lab. The Purification Chamber is prominently displayed there.

Chamber Layout and Operation

The Purification Chamber consists of nine circular "sets" arranged in a 3x3 grid. Each set has four slots where you can place Pokémon. The goal is to create "purification circles" within these sets.

Placing Pokémon: Select a Shadow Pokémon from your party or PC and place it into an empty slot within any of the nine sets.
Normal Pokémon: You can also place normal (non-Shadow) Pokémon into the chamber. These Pokémon are essential for forming purification circles.
Purification Circles: A purification circle is formed when all four slots within a single set are filled with Pokémon. The purification rate of the Shadow Pokémon within that circle will then increase.

Optimizing Purification Circles

The speed at which a Shadow Pokémon's heart gauge decreases is directly influenced by the types of Pokémon surrounding it in a purification circle. To maximize efficiency, consider the following strategies:

Type Matching: Placing Pokémon that share a type with the Shadow Pokémon, or types that are super effective against it, will significantly boost the purification rate. For example, if you're purifying a Shadow Sneasel (Dark/Ice), placing Fighting-type Pokémon in the same circle will be highly effective.
Elemental Harmony: The game subtly encourages elemental balance. While not as impactful as type matching, having several types within a circle can contribute to a steady purification.
High-Level Pokémon: Generally, higher-level Pokémon contribute more to the purification process, though type matching remains the most crucial factor.

Monitoring Purification Progress

You can check the purification progress of any Shadow Pokémon in the chamber by interacting with it. The heart gauge will visibly decrease as purification progresses. Once the heart gauge is completely empty, the Shadow Pokémon is ready to be purified.

Final Purification Steps

Remove from Chamber: Once a Shadow Pokémon's heart gauge is empty, remove it from the Purification Chamber.
Battle with the Pokémon: Engage in battles with the purified Shadow Pokémon in your party. Each battle will contribute to its final purification.
Use Scents: For a significant boost, use various Scents (Joy Scent, Excite Scent, Vivid Scent, Purity Scent, etc.) on the Shadow Pokémon. These can be purchased at various shops, such as the Outskirt Stand or Pyrite Town's shop.
Visit Agate Village Relic Stone: Once the heart gauge is completely empty and you've battled with the Pokémon sufficiently, take it to the Relic Stone in Agate Village. Interacting with the stone will complete the purification process, returning the Pokémon to its normal state and allowing it to learn its original moves.
