Elite Four Aaron (Bug-type)

  • Pokémon: Yanmega (Lv. 53), Heracross (Lv. 54), Vespiquen (Lv. 53), Scizor (Lv. 54), Drapion (Lv. 57).
  • Weaknesses: Fire, Flying, Rock (Drapion is Poison/Dark, weak to Ground).
  • Strategy: Fire and Flying-type moves are highly effective. Rock-type moves are also good. Drapion is a curveball, being Poison/Dark, so a Ground-type move is ideal.

Elite Four Bertha (Ground-type)

  • Pokémon: Whiscash (Lv. 55), Hippowdon (Lv. 57), Golem (Lv. 56), Rhyperior (Lv. 58), Gliscor (Lv. 57).
  • Weaknesses: Water, Grass, Ice (Gliscor is Ground/Flying, weak to Water, Ice).
  • Strategy: Water and Grass-type moves are excellent. Ice-type moves are super effective against Gliscor and Garchomp (if she had one). Be wary of Hippowdon's Sand Stream ability.

Elite Four Flint (Fire-type)

  • Pokémon: Rapidash (Lv. 58), Infernape (Lv. 61), Magmortar (Lv. 59), Flareon (Lv. 57), Steelix (Lv. 57).
  • Weaknesses: Water, Ground, Rock (Steelix is Steel/Ground, weak to Fire, Water, Fighting, Ground).
  • Strategy: Water and Ground-type moves will sweep through most of his team. Rock-type moves are also good. Steelix is another curveball, so have a Water or Fighting-type ready.

Elite Four Lucian (Psychic-type)

  • Pokémon: Mr. Mime (Lv. 59), Alakazam (Lv. 60), Bronzong (Lv. 61), Medicham (Lv. 59), Gallade (Lv. 59).
  • Weaknesses: Bug, Ghost, Dark (Bronzong is Steel/Psychic, weak to Fire, Ground, Ghost, Dark).
  • Strategy: Dark and Ghost-type moves are your best bet. Bug-type moves are also effective. Bronzong's Levitate or Heatproof ability can be tricky.

Champion Cynthia

  • Pokémon: Spiritomb (Lv. 61), Roserade (Lv. 60), Lucario (Lv. 63), Milotic (Lv. 60), Garchomp (Lv. 66), Togekiss (Lv. 60).
  • Weaknesses: Spiritomb (no weaknesses in Gen 4), Roserade (Fire, Ice, Flying, Psychic), Lucario (Fighting, Ground, Fire), Milotic (Electric, Grass), Garchomp (Ice, Dragon, Fairy), Togekiss (Electric, Ice, Rock, Poison).
  • Strategy: Cynthia's team is incredibly diverse. You need a well-balanced team with excellent type coverage. Garchomp is her ace and extremely fast and powerful; an Ice-type move is almost essential to take it down. Spiritomb has no weaknesses in Gen 4, so rely on strong neutral attacks. Milotic is a bulky special attacker. Lucario is a mixed attacker. Togekiss can be annoying with Serene Grace. Prepare for a long and challenging battle!
