The Sunyshore City Gym specializes in Electric-type Pokémon. The Gym puzzle involves rotating gears to create a path. Volkner, the Gym Leader, uses the following Pokémon:
- Raichu (Lv. 46): Electric type. Weak to Ground.
- Ambipom (Lv. 47): Normal type. Weak to Fighting.
- Luxray (Lv. 47): Electric type. Weak to Ground.
- Electivire (Lv. 50): Electric type. Weak to Ground. This is his ace Pokémon.
Strategy: Ground-type Pokémon are incredibly effective here. Be careful of Ambipom, as it's Normal-type and immune to Ghost, and its Fighting weakness is different. Electivire is a powerful physical attacker. After defeating Volkner, you'll receive the Beacon Badge, allowing you to use Waterfall outside of battle, and TM57 (Charge Beam). You now have all eight badges!
