The Canalave City Gym specializes in Steel-type Pokémon. The Gym puzzle involves using elevators to navigate platforms. Byron, the Gym Leader, uses the following Pokémon:
- Bronzor (Lv. 37): Steel/Psychic type. Weak to Fire, Ground, Ghost, Dark.
- Steelix (Lv. 38): Steel/Ground type. Weak to Fire, Water, Fighting, Ground.
- Bastiodon (Lv. 41): Rock/Steel type. Weak to Fighting, Ground, Water. This is his ace Pokémon.
Strategy: Fire-type and Ground-type Pokémon are extremely effective here. Water-type moves also work well against Steelix and Bastiodon. Be wary of Bronzor's Levitate ability, which makes it immune to Ground-type attacks. Bastiodon has very high Defense and Special Defense, so super-effective attacks are crucial. After defeating Byron, you'll receive the Mine Badge, allowing you to use Strength outside of battle, and TM91 (Flash Cannon).
