Your adventure begins in Pallet Town. After meeting Professor Oak and choosing your starter Pokémon, you'll battle your rival for the first time. Head north to Viridian City, where you'll pick up Oak's Parcel and deliver it back to the Professor. He'll then give you a Pokédex and some Poké Balls. Continue through Viridian Forest, catching new Pokémon and battling trainers, until you reach Pewter City, home of the first Gym Leader.
