Each boss fight presents a distinct set of mechanics and requires careful observation and strategic execution.
The core mechanic of these boss fights involves a two-phase approach. In the first phase, you'll be tasked with weakening the Noble Pokémon by throwing items at it, specifically the Balms provided to you. These Balms are effective in staggering the Pokémon and creating openings for you to attack. You'll need to dodge its powerful, area-of-effect attacks, which can range from sweeping energy blasts to devastating physical assaults. Learning the attack patterns and timing your dodges is paramount to survival. Once you've landed enough hits with the Balms, the Pokémon will be temporarily stunned, allowing you to switch to your own Pokémon and engage in traditional turn-based combat.
During the turn-based combat phase, you'll need to exploit the Pokémon's weaknesses. Pay attention to its typing and choose Pokémon from your party that have type advantages. Use strong offensive moves to deal as much damage as possible before the Noble Pokémon recovers and begins its next barrage of attacks. After a few turns of combat, the Pokémon will regain its composure, and you'll be pushed back into the evasion phase, repeating the cycle until its health is depleted.
Some boss fights introduce additional mechanics. For example, certain Noble Pokémon might summon smaller Pokémon to aid them, or they might have specific environmental hazards that you need to avoid. The terrain itself can also play a role, with some arenas featuring obstacles or elevated platforms that can be used for cover or strategic positioning. Always be aware of your surroundings and how they can be used to your advantage or disadvantage.
