How to Find & Catch Uxie in Pokemon Legends: Arceus
Uxie, the Pokémon of Knowledge, is one of the three Lake Guardians you'll encounter in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Finding and catching Uxie is a significant challenge that requires you to have progressed through a specific point in the main story and to have completed certain trials. This elusive Psychic-type Legendary Pokémon resides at the northernmost lake in the Hisui region, but its appearance is not guaranteed without the proper steps.
To even have a chance at encountering Uxie, you must first complete the main story missions up to and including Mission 22, "The Dauntless Pokémon." After this point, the legendary Pokémon associated with the lakes will begin to appear more frequently. Specifically, you need to have completed the trials at Lake Verity (involving Mesprit), Lake Acuity (involving Azelf), and Lake Valor (involving Uxie itself). These trials are part of the main storyline and are essential prerequisites for catching these Legendary Pokémon.
Once the main story is complete and you've undertaken the necessary trials, you can begin your search for Uxie. Uxie is located at **Lake Acuity**, which is found in the northern part of the Alabaster Icelands. Travel to the Alabaster Icelands and make your way to the lake. Upon arriving at Lake Acuity, you will find that Uxie is not immediately available for capture. Similar to its siblings, Uxie presents a puzzle or a challenge before it will allow itself to be caught.
The encounter with Uxie at Lake Acuity is a direct continuation of Mission 16, "The Trial of Lake Acuity." During this mission, you will confront Uxie. The challenge involves Uxie using its psychic powers to create illusions and test your perception. You will need to throw balms at Uxie while it is actively trying to evade you and attack you with psychic energy. This is a test of your reflexes and accuracy. You must hit Uxie with enough balms to disrupt its concentration and make it vulnerable. Be prepared to dodge its attacks, which can inflict status conditions or deal damage.
Once you have successfully hit Uxie with enough balms, it will become susceptible to capture. You will then engage Uxie in a standard Pokémon battle. Uxie is a Psychic-type Pokémon with high Special Defense and Special Attack. It can learn moves that inflict status conditions like Confusion or Sleep, and powerful psychic attacks. It's advisable to bring Pokémon that are resistant to Psychic-type attacks, such as Dark-type Pokémon, or Pokémon that can inflict status conditions of their own to disrupt Uxie's strategy. Having Pokémon with strong physical attack stats can also be effective, as Uxie's Defense is lower than its Special Defense.
Be patient and persistent. Uxie is a Legendary Pokémon, and its capture can be challenging. If you fail to catch it during the battle, you can usually return to Lake Acuity after some time has passed (often by returning to Jubilife Village and then back to the area) to trigger the encounter again. Successfully capturing Uxie is a significant achievement and adds a powerful ally to your team.
