Mission 1: In an Unfamiliar Land
Your adventure in Pokémon Legends: Arceus begins with a dramatic arrival in the ancient land of Hisui. You've been transported from the modern world and find yourself in a precarious situation, tasked with proving your worth to the Galaxy Team. This first mission, 'In an Unfamiliar Land,' serves as your introduction to the game's core mechanics and the world of Hisui.
Upon waking up after your mysterious arrival, you'll be greeted by Professor Laventon, a researcher dedicated to studying the Pokémon of Hisui. He'll task you with your very first set of objectives, which are designed to teach you the basics of catching Pokémon and navigating the early areas of the Obsidian Fieldlands.
Objective 1: Catch Three Pokémon
Professor Laventon will ask you to catch three specific Pokémon to demonstrate your basic catching skills. These are typically common Pokémon found in the immediate vicinity of the starting area. The Pokémon you'll likely need to catch are:
- Starly: A common Flying/Normal type, often found in flocks.
- Shinx: An Electric type, usually found in grassy areas.
- Wurmple: A Bug type, often found near trees.
To catch them, you'll need to use your Poké Balls. Approach the Pokémon, aim your Poké Ball, and throw it. For easier catches, try to approach from behind or from tall grass to remain undetected. Successfully catching a Pokémon will add it to your team.
Objective 2: Return to Professor Laventon
Once you have successfully caught the required three Pokémon, you'll need to return to Professor Laventon. He'll be waiting for you near your initial landing spot. He will review your catches and provide you with further instructions and your first Survey Corps uniform.
Objective 3: Head to the Obsidian Fieldlands Base Camp
Professor Laventon will then instruct you to head to the first Base Camp in the Obsidian Fieldlands. This will serve as your primary staging area for exploring the region. Along the way, you'll learn about the importance of crafting and gathering materials.
At the Base Camp, you'll be introduced to the crafting system. You'll need to gather materials like Apricorns and Tumblestones to craft more Poké Balls and other essential items. pick up any items you see on the ground as you explore.
Objective 4: Catch a Noble Pokémon (Kleavor)
The mission culminates in your first encounter with a Frenzied Noble Pokémon: Kleavor. This is a significant boss battle that introduces the unique mechanics of calming these enraged creatures. You'll need to dodge Kleavor's powerful attacks and throw Balms at it to stun it.
After stunning Kleavor with balms, you'll have an opportunity to send out your own Pokémon to battle it. Remember Kleavor's weaknesses (Water, Rock, Steel) and use your strongest Pokémon to deal damage. This battle is a test of both your dodging skills and your Pokémon battling prowess.
Successfully calming Kleavor will complete the mission and officially mark your entry into the Galaxy Team. You'll be rewarded with your Survey Corps rank increasing, unlocking new features and areas of the game.
