Candy System & Powering Up
Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee introduce a unique and impactful candy system, drawing inspiration from the mechanics found in Pokémon GO. This system allows for the permanent enhancement of your Pokémon's base stats, offering a distinct method of power-up beyond traditional leveling. By administering various types of candies to your Pokémon, you can directly and permanently boost their core attributes, including HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed. This provides a powerful avenue for customizing your team and strengthening individual Pokémon.
The candies are categorized into different types, such as Quick Candy, Tough Candy, and specialized candies unique to specific Pokémon species. For instance, a Pikachu Candy would primarily benefit Pikachu. Each candy type corresponds to a specific stat boost. For example, Tough Candy might increase Attack and Defense, while Quick Candy could boost Speed and Special Attack. The effectiveness of each candy is indicated by a visual cue, often showing an upward arrow for a stat increase. there's a limit to how much a single Pokémon's stats can be increased through candies, but these boosts are significant and can dramatically alter a Pokémon's performance in battle.
Candies are primarily obtained through two main methods: catching Pokémon and transferring them to Professor Oak. The more Pokémon you catch, especially those of the same species, the more candies you will accumulate. Transferring Pokémon to Professor Oak also yields candies, with rarer Pokémon often rewarding rarer or more numerous candies. Building high Catch Combos (catching the same species of Pokémon multiple times in a row) significantly increases the number of candies you receive per catch, making it an efficient way to farm both experience and candies. Utilizing these candies strategically on your favorite Pokémon or those you intend to use for challenging battles is key to maximizing your team's potential and overcoming difficult opponents.
