Shop Listings by Location

Navigating the vast region of Hoenn means you'll need to resupply frequently. This section provides a comprehensive breakdown of what each shop offers, allowing you to plan your purchases efficiently and ensure your team is always ready for battle. Remember that stock often expands as you progress through the main story, so revisit towns periodically!

Oldale Town Poké Mart

Your very first stop for essential supplies. The Oldale Town Poké Mart offers basic recovery items to get you started on your journey. It's crucial to stock up here before heading out to Route 102.

  • Poké Ball: 200 P (Essential for catching new Pokémon!)
  • Potion: 300 P (Heals 20 HP)
  • Antidote: 100 P (Cures Poison)
  • Paralyze Heal: 200 P (Cures Paralysis)

Strategy Tip: Purchase at least 5-10 Poké Balls here. You'll encounter several early-game Pokémon on Route 102 and Route 103 that are excellent additions to your team, such as Poochyena, Zigzagoon, and Ralts (rarely).

Petalburg City Poké Mart

After your first Gym battle (or before, if you backtrack), the Petalburg City Poké Mart expands its inventory slightly. This is a good place to stock up on more specialized status healers.

  • Poké Ball: 200 P
  • Potion: 300 P
  • Antidote: 100 P
  • Paralyze Heal: 200 P
  • Awakening: 250 P (Cures Sleep)
  • Burn Heal: 250 P (Cures Burn)
  • Ice Heal: 250 P (Cures Freeze)

Strategy Tip: The Petalburg Woods and Route 104 have Pokémon that can inflict status conditions like Poison (Shroomish) and Paralysis (Electrike). Having a few of each status heal item will save you trips back to a Pokémon Center.

Rustboro City Poké Mart

Rustboro City marks a significant milestone, and its Poké Mart reflects this with an expanded selection, including the crucial Great Ball. This is also where you can purchase your first set of Wings for Super Training.

General Goods Counter:

  • Poké Ball: 200 P
  • Great Ball: 600 P (Higher catch rate than a Poké Ball)
  • Potion: 300 P
  • Super Potion: 700 P (Heals 50 HP)
  • Antidote: 100 P
  • Paralyze Heal: 200 P
  • Awakening: 250 P
  • Burn Heal: 250 P
  • Ice Heal: 250 P
  • Fluffy Tail: 1000 P (Guarantees escape from wild Pokémon battles)

Strategy Tip: Invest in Great Balls! They significantly improve your chances of catching stronger Pokémon you'll encounter on Route 116 and in Granite Cave. Super Potions are also a cost-effective upgrade for healing during longer stretches between Pokémon Centers.

EV-Enhancing Items (Wings) Counter:

Located on the right side of the Poké Mart, this vendor sells various Wings that provide small EV boosts to your Pokémon. These are useful for fine-tuning your Pokémon's stats for competitive play or just giving them a slight edge.

  • Health Wing: 1000 P (Raises HP EV by 1)
  • Muscle Wing: 1000 P (Raises Attack EV by 1)
  • Resist Wing: 1000 P (Raises Defense EV by 1)
  • Genius Wing: 1000 P (Raises Special Attack EV by 1)
  • Clever Wing: 1000 P (Raises Special Defense EV by 1)
  • Swift Wing: 1000 P (Raises Speed EV by 1)

Strategy Tip: While not essential for a casual playthrough, if you're planning to optimize a specific Pokémon's stats early on, purchasing a few relevant Wings can give you a head start. Remember that each Wing only provides a +1 EV boost, so they are best used for minor adjustments or when you're just starting out with EV training.

Mauville City Poké Mart

Mauville City's Poké Mart is a major upgrade, offering a wider array of items crucial for mid-game progression, including Repels and Escape Ropes. You'll find it on the ground floor of the Mauville City shopping complex.

Full Heals are incredibly valuable for battles against trainers who inflict multiple status conditions. Stock up on Repels and Super Repels before exploring areas like the Fiery Path or Jagged Pass to avoid unwanted encounters and save time.

TM Shop (Mauville City - North-East Corner)

While not a traditional Poké Mart, Mauville City also houses a dedicated TM shop in the north-east corner of the city, offering some powerful Technical Machines for purchase. These TMs are single-use, so choose wisely!

  • TM54 False Swipe: 2000 P (Leaves foe with at least 1 HP; excellent for catching Pokémon)
  • TM73 Thunder Wave: 1000 P (Paralyzes the target; great for catching and disabling foes)
  • TM70 Flash: 1000 P (Lowers foe's accuracy; also used to light up dark caves)
  • TM16 Light Screen: 3000 P (Halves damage from special attacks for 5 turns)
  • TM33 Reflect: 3000 P (Halves damage from physical attacks for 5 turns)

Strategy Tip: TM54 False Swipe is an absolute must-buy for any serious Pokémon catcher. It allows you to weaken Pokémon without accidentally knocking them out. TM73 Thunder Wave is also highly recommended for its ability to paralyze, further increasing catch rates and slowing down fast opponents.
